However the fish was very nice (cooked in paper) and the pork appetizer was nicely prepared.
The staff was busy closing and cleaning so service for me was limited and I had to go to the counter to get my check, perhaps management needs to focus on training here about customer attention. However the staff were pleasant and upbeat and when you got their attention, helpful.
We had a large pram and a wheelchair and were accomated quickly despite it being a Saturday afternoon.
Our server was very chatty and friendly and cracked a few jokes with our teenage boy.
Food was very nice, really quick service and large portions which we couldn’t finish.
Prices were reasonable.
Large disabled toilet and baby changing table.
The cocktail menu looked tempting but I was driving!
Great onion rings and mocktail was delicious and pretty.
Cookie cream stack was almost completely tasteless and was served with squirty cream not the white chocolate mousse advertised.
There was no coffee machine.
No music, it was chilly inside and the toilets were far away
The staff were a real highlight, friendly, engaged, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. They were informative too, adding a nice touch to the whole experience.
The mocktails were a hit, refreshing and well-presented. Overall, a great spot for a solid meal with a welcoming vibe.
Highly recommend!
We arrived at 6:30pm and our drink order was taken as soon as we sat down. However, our drinks didn’t arrive until 7:00pm. They then took our food order — we ordered both starters and mains — and then we waited… and waited. We were absolutely starving.
While we were sitting there, many tables around us were complaining about the service and sending food back. Some were even having money taken off their bills due to the poor quality. A lady near us waited over 10 minutes just for a fork. Drinks were being delivered to the wrong tables, and one waitress repeatedly brought orders to the wrong table numbers.
We ordered another round of drinks, which took an additional 20 minutes to arrive. We asked about our food three times and were told that the “kitchen is in bits,” whatever that means. Meanwhile, the lady next to us received ribs that were freezing cold and had to send them back.
We finally received our starters at 8:10pm. My partner’s ribs were also completely cold. We asked for them to be reheated and waited another 10 minutes. There was no apology from any staff member — just poor service all around.
Eventually, we decided to leave. We were prepared to pay for the drinks we had already had, but the waiter told us to just leave and that they would be on the house. So we walked out still very hungry.
It’s such a shame because we were really looking forward to having steak, and it was Valentine’s Day, which should have made the evening special. I understand that they were extremely busy, but if they can’t handle the number of tables, they shouldn’t take so many bookings.
