For the type restaurant it is the setting is fine. Sometimes I think it could be twice as large because it’s so business. Sometimes few buffets these days but here is one. It’s about 55 miles away but we slip up occasionally for a good and reasonable meal. When we spent the summer up that way a whole group of us would go. They easily sat 10 of us. And with it being an affordable meal we mostly got the buffet so we had our meal quickly. Good salad bar. Personally I can’t eat a lot but the buffet is still the best deal for me. I like that bit of variety. Kind and pleasant staff who add peace to your meal.

Really nice relaxing small town diner, the staff are super friendly and helpful during the entire time I was there. My little sister and I both ordered burgers because honestly it’s a staple food lol, but regardless they tasted amazing and did not disappoint at all. The fries were well salted and the coleslaw tasted great. And best yet all the food was hot and fresh which isn’t very common these days at a lot of restaurants. 10/10 I hope I’m driving through the area again sometime soon so I can come again.

Small town diner with good food and friendly people. Used to come here a lot when I lived in Ithaca, and both my parents lived around here a bit back in the late 1930’s. This was the kind of place they always took us when we went out for a family dinner. Plenty of parking – and the pies are great, so save room for dessert!

We were on a road trip and decided to try their buffet. It was a small buffet the stuffing was bland and just mush. The ham was formed ham in a lot of liquid so was the roast beef in a lot of liquid. Even the yams were in a lot of liquid. The lettuce had brown edges on the salad bar. My wife took a couple of bites of the chicken and didn’t want anything else. The waitress never came back to our table. Understandably this is a small town with nothing else around. We didn’t try the pie or baked goods but I will say the homemade beans were good. All in all unimpressive. Was expecting more quality from all the positive reviews.

The waitress are always so friendly and attentive. Food is always excellent and fresh. The salad bar is great for the price and they keep it well stocked. It can get loud when they have large groups or get rather busy but still very easy to talk amongst your table.

This mid-Michigan gem is old school comfort food at a great price! Think Sunday supper but everyday. Specials different days of the week, fried shrimp, fish, ham….broasted chicken is my hook, bread pudding with lemon sauce. Their fresh bread is delicious…be sure to try the wheat! Everything has gone up everywhere but this is a place where value still matters. Huge selection of pies and yummy cinnamon rolls!

Middleton’s Diner is the kind of place that reminds you why small-town restaurants are so special. From the moment you walk in, you feel the home-cooked comfort and welcoming atmosphere that makes this spot stand out. It’s not just a meal here — it’s an experience that keeps you coming back, even if you have to drive a long way to get there (we live 1.5 hours away, and it’s absolutely worth the trip every time).
The buffet is outstanding — everything tastes fresh, hearty, and full of that classic “made with love” quality you just don’t find in chain restaurants. There’s something for everyone, and the variety makes it easy to fill your plate more than once. One of the absolute highlights for me is the bread pudding. It’s beyond outstanding — rich, warm, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, it’s worth the drive all by itself.
The staff deserves a huge compliment as well. They are always friendly, courteous, and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. You get the sense that they truly care about both the food they serve and the people who walk through their doors.
The small-town vibe here is unmatched. It’s cozy, genuine, and just plain comfortable — the kind of place where you immediately feel at home. I’ve brought friends and family here, and everyone falls in love with it just as much as I have.
Middleton’s Diner isn’t just a great place to eat — it’s a destination. The home-cooked food, incredible buffet, unbeatable bread pudding, and welcoming staff will bring you back again and again. We truly love this diner, and I hope the owners know how much their hard work and hospitality mean to those of us who visit.
