We visited on a Friday during Lent so I tried their fish dinner with French fries. The fish was a huge portion with a crispy batter. It was seasoned nicely. My Mom had the fish sandwich, which you will see in the photos was of equal proportion with an added bun of course. My son had a grilled cheese and he was very happy with it. I also tried the Lobster Bisque. It was served hot. It was creamy, velvety and rich. I really enjoyed it.
Service was friendly and prompt. We are planning to visit for Sunday brunch next. I definitely recommend Middle Road Inn for a relaxing, family-friendly meal.
At 10A-10:30 it is very busy.
Waffles, pasta, chicken, green beans, salad, rolls, carved ham, omelets, and potatoes are a few of the offerings.
The POTATOES are by far the best we’ve had at any breakfast.
The WAFFLES are light, crisp, consistently filled and delicious.
The Food was constantly being added, freshened, etc.
The cost is $17 a person and juice is $3 as is coffee, so expect to spend around $21 a person, we didn’t’ order alcohol so I can’t quote that.
If you don’t eat meat your options are a bit more sparse: Potatoes, waffles, salad, bread, beans, or seafood (if you eat seafood)
If you are vegan, don’t go, you won’t have options.
Why 4 Not 5 Stars?
The DESSERTS are minimalistic as far as breakfast buffets go, offering 2, on the far side of the room where you enter,( you might not even notice them) and wish they were donuts, not a pudding and a brownie, kind of pathetic for a brunch dessert, not even cookies, but that’s just IMO.
There are NO sneeze guards on the buffet. I am mentioning this solely for those patrons that love to eat at a buffet but really want a sneeze guard associated with their dining experience, cause that is NOT happening here. (do note that the staff was maintaining the food area, nonstop, and it was clean without transfer of serving utensils)
Tip: If you prefer to NOT smell like the food, sit in the bar area instead of the main dining area, many were, because there is no exhaust fan and you will smell like what you eat.
Decent draft list, including Arsenal Ginger Cider (recommend!)
Ordered two entrees:
Prime rib special which was cooked to perfection; exceptionally tender and flavorful.
Carmelized salmon which was crispy on the outside and rich and tender on the inside.
Side salads and brussel sprouts as sides were also excellent.
Looking forward to returning soon!
