Driving by had no idea this was here and saw the sign for gumbo. I love some good gumbo and red beans. Wow. Big disappointment. Gumbo wasn’t horrible since I was able to finish most of it. Just had a cup. The red beans tasted like something out of a can. Lacked flavor. The sweet potato pie didn’t taste authentic either. Big let down since they are close by.

My bf and I wanted to try Gumbo for the first time, so we decided to stop by Mickle. The atmosphere was really nice. The service was great! The catfish and gumbo that we ordered….. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! And to top it off the in house Sweet Tea is super fire!! I HIGHLY recommend for those first timers of Gumbo and Catfish.

Not from the area, ordered delivery. I love gumbo & know good gumbo when I eat it but this gumbo wasn’t the best. It wasn’t really bad but it was too spicy. My chicken tenders look hard and over cooked.

Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. The gumbo is loaded and so very good and the boudin is as good as it comes straight from New Orleans!

amazing fried catfish along with a pint of gumbo it’s a very home-cooked place shout out to the man behind the counter who was very friendly and healthy. Make my choice as I was visiting. There’s great business locally owned that should be supported because this is the heartbeat of America. WILL BE BACK for sure ! ❤️

Mickle Cajun kitchen is by far the spiciest and tastiest gumbo I’ve ever had.
I’ve tried the State Fair gumbo, and every “Cajun” restaurant and have always been just a little disappointed. Either in the texture the ratio or the flavor had never been what it could be.
The spice level is perfect, it burns but there is so much flavor, you get a good ratio of chicken and shrimp and sausage in every bite, it’s by far the heftiest one I’ve come across.
They do a chicken tender sandwich and boudin links that are .
Turkey legs too but I haven’t tried yet due to my eternal gumbo fixation.
The staff are always wonderful and if I could eat this everyday I would ( I tried, made it 3 days in a row before the rest of my body had a mutiny )
Forgive the pic I had started eating already before I remembered I should actually show it off.

Had the gumbo and the crawfish etouffee and was very pleased. Only drawback was a bit too much rice in the gumbo which completely soaked up all the gravy by the time I arrived home. Otherwise, I plan on returning to try the other menu items!
