Relaxed Italian eatery with pizza & a full menu & more than 130 whiskeys amid retro sports-bar digs.

This place has a sports bar type atmosphere, which is great if that isbwhat you’re looking for. I was hoping for more of a medium/high end Italian restaurant based on previewing thier menu.
The service was great from Matthew but getting our food did take longer than expected.
We ordered brushetta, a large pizza, chicken Alfredo pasta and lasagna. The lasagna was the highlight and the brushetta was disappointing. It had very little flavor and the bread was sliced way too thick.
The pizza had great potential but needed to be cooked for another 5 minutes or so, it was a Chicago crust that was barely beige.
The pasta came with soup or salad, the Italian wedding soup was excellent
Maybe they just had an off night with the pizza and pasta flavors?

This place was recommended by someone for pizza and old fashioneds. My sis had the old fashioned and said it was fine. But the pizza was amazing! New York crust, The picasso and the Monet. So so so good! Omar was amazing with above and beyond service. Our bartender made this drink specially for me upon request. We ate in the bar area so it was a little loud so if you want quieter maybe go to the dining room. But you can not go wrong here!

This is the first time I visited this restaurant. If you ever find yourself in Fresno, this is an absolute must go!
If you like bourbon, must go!
If you like homemade Italian food, must go!
If you like restaurants with a really cool vibe, must go!.
I sat at the bar and Diego was my bartender. I learned this restaurant is famil owned and ran. I had in of the best experiences ever. I am of Sicilian heritage and definitely needed to put the menu to the test. It was recommended I have the meatballs and Calzone. I had Diego pick the fillings of the Calzone.
The Meatballs brought me back to my childhood when my Nana made them. The Meatballs were full of flavor and very moist. The sauce was definitely not from a can. Homemade for sure.
The Calzone was fluffy, cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
When I go back to Fresno, this will definitely be a stop.

Great pizza, I ordered a 3 topping, fresh tasting ingredients. I would go back. I would have graded everything fives however I didn’t really get a chance to see how the inside looked as I was just picking up food as the four out of five star rating. Great service here for the 3 minutes I was in there they were very attentive and I got my pizza within 3 minutes of me walking through the door when I was 10 minutes early from the time they quoted. Great service! The pizza was pretty darn good I was driving back to fowler so by the time I got back, it wasn’t as hot as it could have been but I still enjoyed it very much. I don’t know what I would compare it to but I used to love the pizza chukchansi has on their buffet and then they changed it after they reopened after covid. And this pizza comes the closest to replicating that pizza which is one of my favorites.

Hands down my favorite whiskey bar in California, the food is so delicious. Family owned and run so you’ll have great service, I totally recommend this restaurant.

Atmosphere is s vibrant. Service is good. But unfortunately food is not genuine Italian Recipes. It’s just another ” Mexican -American-Italian” type restaurant which is quite common in the Central Valley . Guess all the authentic Italian people retired. Still the food wasn’t bad it’s just very common taste consistency with all the others

The staff was excellent. I’m going to be honest, though. A lot of people love this place and maybe the service is why. The pizza crust is nice and crispy, and the bread smells lovely. My issue is that not all ingredients that are used are fresh. Like the mushrooms on the pizza. I can tell they were canned or were frozen. I had to give a lower rating because of the food. Sadly, when you’re competing with pizza places, you better be on your game. Maybe work on the flavors. Ingredient is everything. Just my opinion.

I can’t believe we haven’t written a review sooner! This place is simply the best. The best Old Fashioneds, best pizza, best pastas and absolute best service. Every time we come, we feel right at home! The folks at the bar (shoutout to Diego and the tall guy with glasses (I feel awful for not remembering his name!)) always remember both our food and drink orders, and they can always give great recommendations on the menu… on the off chance we order something other than the Calabrese and a Van Gogh.
To summarize, Michelangelo’s is always the right choice. Thank you all for everything you do to keep us coming back!
P.S. I copy and pasted my review from Yelp but just wanted to make sure they received the right recognition on all platforms!

First time there and had the best customer service experience! Omar, the owner’s son was our server, my wife mentioned that it was our first time there and it was all VIP service from there. JR, the owner, welcomed us to his restaurant but it felt like he welcomed us to his family- which by the way is a family based and also ran by family! Visiting from Riverside and I can’t wait for me next visit. The pizza and pasta was fresh and homemade with unique flavors. Must try if you’re in town!

I only came to try their whiskey and it did not disappoint. It was crowded when we arrived so good indication that the food is good as well. We did sample the Chipotle and chips and they were worth getting again. My friend even bought a pint of the Chipotle sauce. The homemade chips were warm and well salted. Give this place a shot.
