We just left this restaurant and had a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

When we walked in, no one was at the front counter or greeted us. Even though there was a “seat yourself” sign, we tried to be polite and let a staff member know we had arrived. Her response was to point at the sign and say, “learn to read.” We laughed it off and went to the bar area, where we sat for 18 minutes before anyone acknowledged us.

When we finally ordered drinks, I requested a vodka Sprite. The vodka used was extremely low quality and tasted awful.

We ordered the chicken parmesan and chicken primavera. When the food arrived, the chicken parmesan was not fried as described. We had also asked to substitute spaghetti for fettuccine, but were only given spaghetti noodles with the same fettuccine sauce. When we asked about this, we were told the restaurant does not have a fryer, which was never disclosed beforehand.

My boyfriend explained that this was not what he wanted and that he was unhappy with the meal. The server responded by saying that either way we would be taking the food home, strongly implying we had no choice but to pay for it regardless of quality or accuracy. We explained this was meant to be my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. While he apologized that we didn’t like the food, he again repeated that we would still be taking it home and paying, and could order something else if we wanted.

At that point, we chose to leave without eating. The food was cheaply made, poorly prepared, and tasted terrible. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction clearly, no discount, comp, or attempt to make things right was offered. We were charged just under $50 for a meal we didn’t eat.

Between the rude staff, long wait times, misleading menu, poor food quality, and lack of customer service, this was an extremely disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

This place was pretty cool. Good food full bat and slot machines! We got the lasagna and it was ok but wish we would have gotten a pizza they looked amazing. Great prices as well!

A very charming and traditional spot that feels like a cozy step back in time. The decor is definitely outdated, but in a way that adds to its character rather than taking away from the experience. The pizza was delicious, and the calzone had great flavor though I do wish the dough had been a bit thinner. Still, everything tasted fresh and homemade. Overall, a solid 4-star experience and a lovely place for a comforting meal.

I have been going to Michelangelo’s for several years. I have been satisfied until this last time. 2/21/26. Ordered 2 containers of buttered noodles and 2 orders of Alfredo. The containers where only about half full. I could have combined them into one containers or each. If I would have eaten in the restaurant, I would have received twice as much for half the price.
I will not be wasting my money here anymore. Really disappointed.

I recently dined at Michelangelo’s Italian Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion.

The menu featured a wide range of traditional Italian dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The garlic bread was a standout—crispy and buttery!

Service was attentive without being intrusive, although it got a bit busy during peak dining hours. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which was helpful for first-time visitors.

Overall, Michelangelo’s is a fantastic choice for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy setting. I look forward to returning to explore more of their offerings!

I placed my order at 5:37pm and got my food at 6:25. An almost 50 minute wait time for a watery calzone and 3 pasta shells is CRAZY.

I paid $31 for my two items and would NOT pay that again for what I got. Figured the wait is whatever as long as the food smacked but to bring the food home after almost waiting an hour just to have it be disappointing? NAH.

You can get 2 calzone’s at Winco for $14 for the price of 1 here ($15) and they taste way better and are not soggy. It’s just so whack to me that the calzone was dripping when I picked it up LMAO.

Besides paying $15 for a soggy calzone, I also had the pleasure of laying $15 for THREE stuffed pasta shells. The flavor was not bad (4/10) but you can easily get microwaved pasta that’s better than what I had.

If you’re there to play lottery, their set up is cool and i’m sure you’d have a good time but as far as food goes I would NOT recommend this place to anyone (for Calzones and Shell Pasta). I didn’t try their pizza but after trying these 2 dishes i’m never coming back here again. Service was OK but could of been better (they checked on me once after waiting 30 minutes lol)

Pizza was great as i did a take out. Chewy and a little burnt, the dough is the secret here for really good pizza in Salem, OR. The pizza seems a little old school, like the recipe has been around for a while. Pizza sauce was really good to and toppings were tasty, plentiful. The side salad was nice as well with different types of veggies, imaginative.

I am definitely trying a different pizza next week to see if it compares as well. More reviews to come.

I usually don’t review. But had a delicious experience and wanted to share it. My gf and I dined in for dinner and got a half pep half cheese extra cheese. It was delicious. Would recommend. Especially if you like crispy crust. We also had the stuffed shelled pasta. It was really good as well.

Had dinner here maybe a week ago with family, and it was a laid back, comfortable place with good food and friendly staff. They were busy and seemed to take a bit of time for everything but it was worth it. We sampled our toddler’s pizza which made us want to return and try the other pizza. LOVED the appetizer baked mushrooms (in a butter-garlic bath). My husband thought the spaghetti was subpar. I really liked the pesto chicken fettuccine. Dad-in-law liked the calzone, and mom-in-law got salad. The little (sourdough?) garlic breads were delicious! Will definitely come back
