Ok another great location that is a must go! Michaels trattoria in Wallingford CT is off the hook! The staff, food, and overall family feel will keep you going back again and again. Check them out you will love it.

Standard quality food, calamari was very tasty. Tried to order an Italian coffee (amaretto, hot coffee with whipped cream) , server was totally confused. Got a tepid coffee with a half shot of sambuca and a little pitcher of milk. Server was amenable but seemed to be elsewhere in his mind. Another block down Center Street are at least two much better choices for Italian food. Don’t waste your time or money here!!

Quaint, old school Italian with a great bar and lots of regulars running elbows. Service was top notch, not a hiccup. The food unfortunately, was only meh. Meatballs tasted heavy on the pork and rubbery – probably over mixed. The huge portion of penne tasted pre-cooked, sauce was fine.

Had our company Christmas party here over the weekend, can’t say enough what a great time it was! Food, service and drinks were amazing! Our server was great, she made sure no one had an empty glass and catered to our needs. The strip steak was cooked to perfection, the eggplant rollatini and cheese/meat platters were very tasty. Will be back again!

It’s been ages since we last ate at Michael’s. Our friends got gift cards and invited us to join them. The first thing I noticed was the renovation and entrance—very nicely done. As we were led through the room, I heard a lot of loud noise coming from the room next to the dining area. It was a room with multiple TVs like a sports bar. When we reached our seats in the main dining room, I realized it was the old bar area with the original entrance. We ordered our food. I started with fried oysters. They were delicious, fresh, and very flavorful. Next, I had one of the specials, porketta, with broccoli rabe and pasta. When it arrived at the table, it looked more like a stew than a slice of porketta over the rabe as first described. My friends, who are all Italian, agreed that it wasn’t how it was described. My first bite was overpowering, and the rabe was sour. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this dish. As a side note the old entrance still allows people to enter and exit through which is not very appealing as your eating and attempting to speak over the shouts of encouragement for competing teams in the next room. The acoustics need to be dealt with.

This place is awesome. I try to get her every few months. I always order the meatballs and calamari appetizers. They are my favorite items there. I tried the fillet mignon with veggies. This was so good. The staff was nice and friendly.

I typically leave a review if I REALLY love something or if I am really upset about something and tonight, I am upset. The food at Michael’s is very good however our service was less than desirable which just puts a damper on everything. Took a bit of time for anyone to acknowledge we were at a table waiting, waitress came over and had zero personality. We were sitting at a table in the bar, it was Sunday and wasn’t overly crowded (5:00 reservation). She took our drink order and when she brought our drinks we immediately placed app and dinner order. The wait was unbelievable, never brought salads, got one dinner wrong and didn’t seem to care one way or the other. I was sure to mention our salads didn’t come and the dinner was wrong and she half heartedly asked to replace the dinner but after how long we waited, that wasn’t an option. At the end she comped a dessert which we took to go and had to wait for. Honestly, it’s disappointing because the food is great quality and fresh but having a server that doesn’t help the experience makes me not want to return, sadly.

Great location with a fantastic variety of cuisine! Prices are very fair and the wait staff are very friendly and help you within a very prompt and timely manner. The only reason I gave it 4/5 was because I tried 2 entrees that normally, I’d be very taken with. But when I tasted it, it wasn’t nearly what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious just not quite what I was expecting. I still highly recommend this place and will most likely return visit!
