For over 30 years, Michael’s Steak Chalet has been delighting steak lovers at the Lake of the Ozarks. Perched on a cliff and overlooking the lake at the 28 mile marker, Michael’s Steak Chalet is just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Osage Beach, Missouri. Serving dinner at 4:00pm, you and your guests will enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner in our cozy dining room or weather permitting, settle in under the stars outside on our patio overlooking the lake. Famous for our Prime Rib, that is slow roasted every evening for 16 hours, Michael’s also offers generous cut tender filets and strip steaks. All are aged 28 days, hand trimmed and cooked to your temperature.

Such a wonderful experience!!! We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and had heard about Michael’s Steaks and dinner was absolutely incredible!!!! We had the Lobster Bites and I got the Prime Rib dipped in Andria’s sauce and char broiled. It was the best steak I’ve ever had!! Absolutely an incredible experience. Such a beautiful atmosphere and ambiance. Our waiter Brian was amazing and the owner came by twice to check on us! I highly recommend Michael’s Steak Chalet!!!

Absolutely loved this place! The views alone are worth the visit—absolutely stunning and the perfect backdrop for a great evening. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, filled with fun and friendly people that make the experience even better. The food? Fantastic. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere at Michael’s Steak Chalet is charming and the service was excellent—our server was attentive, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations, which was disappointing given the reputation. With a few improvements to the menu execution, this could easily be a 5-star experience because the service and setting are wonderful.

This restaurant by the lake has gorgeous views and a peaceful atmosphere that adds to the unique dining experience of the Ozarks. The homemade chips, friendly service, and mouthwatering food just made it even better.
I highly recommend their Ooey Gooey Butter cake. We took that to go and savored every bite. This was well worth the price and the stop.
Make reservations beforehand, though, so that they will for sure be able to fit you in.

This is an amazing gem at the lake. The atmosphere is that of a Swiss chalet right on the water. Beautiful lake views. The food was amazing. The menu is extensive. The prices are reasonable for the lake and the portions were very large. Our drinks were perfect and our dinner companion raved about his lemon drop martini and perfect prime rib. My husband’s burger was top notch. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The twice baked potatoes and the salad were delicious. All of the food coming to other tables looked equally as great! We will definitely be back!

Our group had mostly filets and were highly impressed with the tenderness and flavor they offered. Tried the beef Wellington here and it was good also but not near the same caliber as filets! Will definitely have a filet next time we visit. Great views from the outdoor patio but would be nice to see some trees trimmed back for better sunset & lake views. They do Up charge for a simple Caesar salad which was a negative. Dessert was decent but nothing compared to Baxter’s here at the lake! Overall good service and would go back.

Absolutely gorgeous view of the lake from the outdoor seating. I don’t know how anyone would sit indoors if the weather allows you to be out. The atmosphere and service we top notch and the food was delicious. They are pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights so keep that in mind for the outdoor seating and wait time.

We decided to go in a whim and was lucky to get a nice table outside on the patio. I recommend calling for reservations. The young man at the host station worked us in. The food was great! I was going to do a lobster tail add on but when I saw the helping our neighbors at the next table were having I decided maybe next time. When the food got to the table it smelled and looked so good I didn’t think to take a picture. I had a filet mignon with a salad I recommend the house dressing and my wife had the English cut prime rib. Both steaks looked bigger than what the weight said on the menu. My steak was perfect temperature and done a perfect medium. We did steak fries witch were your average run of the mill sort of thing. I really feel the main focus honestly is the meat because it was awesome. The prime is as advertised slow roasted. My wife had a few drinks she loved the lemon drop. The staff was
friendly and attentive. My water glass staid full and I drink a lot of water when I go out to eat. I left so full. We will definitely return the next time we are at the lake. Next time I’m definitely adding a lobster tail even if I can’t finish it.

I had the Steak Oscar with Crab Meat & Asparagus, Delicious Amaretto Cooked Carrots, and a Delicious Broccoli, Cheese & Carrot Soup! My husband had the Filet Mignon (the Steak Melts in your mouth) with a Twice Baked Potato that was GREAT! Our waitress did a Great job, Super Busy, initially! The CHEF is FANTASTIC! They placed the Roses & Chocolates my husband bought for me on the table! Perfect Night & an Extremely Neat Restaurant with Delicious Food! BEST STEAK ON THE LAKE! VERY ROMANTIC!
