Don’t let the location fool you, what’s inside is some of the best Italian around Elkhart. Be prepared to wait though, the food is made fresh for you in house. Worth the wait I’d say. I ordered the pasta combo and my wife and I shared the garlic bread with pepperoni and cheese. Excellent!

This could very well be a five but we went in with expectations that the pizza would be just like a long closed restaurant we used to frequent. It was not but it was good. We ordered the antipasto platter and although it wasn’t as fancy as I’ve had in other place there was SO MUCH! Calamari was good too. Comfy vibe for everyone, with booths and tables that can be put together for large parties. Fine for kids.

What a great find…. Very enjoyable experience here. You know by the regulars being recognized it has a reputation for being good and it was. The table bread was pillowy soft with buttery crust, could’ve made a meal off of it. House salad dressing was perfect balance. We decided to have the baked mostaccioli and pasta combo…. The sauce is so good it would make a piece of leather taste good. We couldn’t come without trying the pizza so had a Margarita and a deluxe, the olives on the deluxe was a bit overpowering for me, but the rest was phenomenal…. I would get without olives next time. All in all great visit with very pleasant service, will definitely be back.

First, the food here is absolutely amazing! Authentic Italian food, home made sauces, meats and cheeses. Second, the portion sizes are out of this world huge! We had more than enough for dinner and dinner the next day. Our friends ordered sandwiches and they were very large and filled to overflowing eith deliciousness! They will have enough for 3 meals! The only thing that is disappointing is that its loud in there when its full. The tables are close to each other, so you feel like you dont have a nice quiet type romantic dinner for 2. And having a conversation is a challenge since it is a smaller place. However, we were there Valentines weekend, so that may have been why it was full to the gills. We would still return, rhe food s outstanding!! Make reservations, there is a wait for the food since they make it fresh to order !

The sauce is the best ever. Layers of flavor. We enjoyed the ample sized lasagna and “bar meatballs.” The meatballs are near baseball sized smothered in sauce with grilled onions, green peppers and mushrooms then covered…really covered with cheese. Try the hot bacon dressing if you’re having a salad. Great service. We almost drove away because the restaurant is in a neighborhood, not really business district. It is an older building. The dining area is quite nice and very comfortable.

Awesome find! We were in town for a swim meet and our kids wanted itialian. We really enjoyed all of the food. The portions were generous, and the prices were fair. The garlic bread with cheese appetizer was awesome! I am glad we took the time to find this resurant.

I’ve been going here since I was a baby. It’s tradition to get a kiddie cocktail and the cheese and crackers. You should plan at least 2 hours for dinner time… Order the C&C, have a drink from the full bar, and just enjoy the atmosphere. This place has tons of history and if you’re from Elkhart, it’s likely you see someone you know. Don’t be afraid of the neighborhood… There seems to be some unspoken respect for Michael’s guests. Maybe I’m just naive . Anyways, go treat yourself.

My family has been getting pizza from Micheal’s for almost 50 years, but we stopped when family was no longer able to go and when I moved from Elkhart. While visiting recently, I stopped in for a large pepperoni pizza. The taste is exactly as I remember. The crust has a nice crunchy rim and a great chew. The sauce isn’t too thick, or applied too heavily. The cheese is ample, without being stringy. The closest style it resembles is Chicago tavern style. Great pizza.

The BEST salad ever! Strawberries, blue cheese, pine nuts and hot bacon dressing add chicken and make it a meal. Enough for 2 meals or to share.
They also make my favorite pizza!
