Michael’s Getaway is exactly that “a getaway”. Some place to just go and have some great food, a drink or two and meet up with friends. I am always running into people I know at Michael’s. Our own little version of “Cheers”. Love it!!!

I liked the lake and wanted to like this place but alas I didn’t. The food was average, and although we all ordered together, the waiter forget to put one of the orders in with the rest of them. So three of us were served while one of us waited for their food to come out late.
This is a large and very cool space. It looks like a venue one could rent out for special events. There is a mini-library of book donations. And I’m told people come to play bingo here. So it has a lot going for it, just not the food.

Great place to go, good selection of cold beer, and lots of wine to choose from. The staff were friendly and courteous. The food is right on point, the chef knows what he’s doing. Price was also very reasonable. If you get a chance to go, don’t miss out.

A very nice restaurant/bar that offers a wide selection of meals & beverages. It has an outside bar that offers a beautiful view of the lake & on Friday nights they have a musician or band that plays free for the customers. Prices are very fair. The only complaint I have is that it takes a long time to pay your bill, due to the use of an apparently very complex or too detailed computer program being used on the cash register. But, you’ll definitely have a good meal & a great time.

Quiet atmosphere at lunchtime. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The corned beef sandwich was melt-in-your-mouth good. Even the sweet potato fries were tasty, and I don’t like sweet potatoes!

It was a little expensive i thought for a hole in the wall place to eat. It was very country-diner decor. Food was ok. Out of the order i placed the waitress came back and told me they were out of two of yhe items i ordered. This was at 545 in the afternoon. I thought that to be odd.
Staff was gracious. Deserts were excellent.
Ill go back and give them one more chance.

Fabulous place to go. Beautiful view of the lake, romantic. Live music some nights. Great food. A fantastic find in the middle of Bunn and Spring Hope. There is no need to go to Raleigh when you have Michael’s Getaway right here.

I go here most of the time I am free. The owner and one of the employees gave me and my friends a really bad attitude. Ordered 4 waters and took 25 minutes to get to us. Also tried to order FRIES but was told it was going to take up to an hour before we got them! By the way, waters are free once they are at your table. Honestly disgusted with the attitude most of all…

A bit of a wait but I understand bc it was quite a few people eating and she was the only waitress. Got the food, it was 100% freshly cooked. It was delicous!! The food by far made up for the bit of the wait at first, but due to the lake bound surroundings and TV on. That wasnt an issue at all. Reccomend 110%
