Mia’s Italian Kitchen, located at the riverside end of King Street in Old Town Alexandria, is rooted in family. Our menu is filled with homestyle traditional Italian recipes sourced from owner Dave Nicholas’ Sicilian grandmother. An elegant wine list accompanies beer and craft cocktails on the beverage menu. Dine downstairs and watch the signature Sicilian-style rectangular pizzas cook in the 800-degree brick oven, or upstairs to view the energetic open kitchen. Open for lunch and dinner, plus bottomless weekend brunch.

This place is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of Old Town! I tried the Chicken Parmigiana, summer citrus sangria, and orange peel espresso. The chicken parm was good but the pasta was a little undercooked. The flavors were delicious. The sangria was super good but the orange peel espresso was super bitter from the peel and not for me. Some bread would’ve been nice with the food too. Overall worth a try!

We heard a lot about Mia’s and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was welcoming and we were immediately seated in a comfortable table with a wonderful view. Our waitress, Rachel, greeted us with cold water, and it was clear that she had a deep knowledge of the menu. Rachel’s made several recommendations that made it very easy to taste the highlights of the restaurant. The food came out quickly and tasted remarkable. The vibe at Mia’s is like being amongst family. Highly recommend Mia’s as a must try if you are in the Alexandria area.

Went here for weekend brunch. The pasta and pizza are excellent, and the location right on the water is wonderful. Both the indoor and outdoor seating are nice. They have a big wine selection, and the sangria is tasty. They have a family style all-you-can-eat brunch deal that would be excellent for groups. Quite reasonable prices for the quality and location.

This place serves fantastic food. We ordered the giant meatball which had mozzarella in it and was super tender and the stuffed peppers which were delicious. The mains did not disappoint too. We loved the homemade mushroom pasta, especially. The steak and chicken park were very good but I’d come back just for the meatball and that mushroom pasta. Fantastic.

Authentic Italian food at its very best! The pasta was delicious, pizzas even better! The dessert was literally the icing on the cake. And our server was also highly professional. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Alexandria.

I was really excited to try Mia’s as I’ve heard the Italian and brunch are delicious. But the experience was sub par. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, with 2 levels (the second level has a kitchen that makes the pasta dishes and the first level makes the pizza). We ordered the zucchini fritters and burrata as an appetizer which were pretty good. I felt there was a bit too much breading on the zucchini fritters but the lemon aioli was delicious. The burrata was good but could have used more saba and we were served two small pieces of bread for 3 people, and ended up having to order more bread. We ordered the carbonara and the fettuccini as main dishes. The fettuccini was good, but felt it could’ve used a protein (chicken maybe?) and there were very small amount of mushrooms. The carbonara tasted really great but the noodles were very thick and not cooked properly, i think they were trying for aldente but they were still chewy. One person in our group had the old fashioned and stated that it was just alcohol on ice and wouldn’t really call it a cocktail old fashioned as described. Now for the services issues. Once we ordered our main meal, the server never returned. We were awaiting refills with no service. We wanted to order dessert but could not get the server to return. Once he finally did after 20 ish minutes post eating our food we just asked for the check. He then proceeded to try and have me skip the questions about service on their payment device. For $120 for 3 people I was not super blown away. The food was pretty good for the most part and the atmosphere of the restaurant was good, but the service was horrible.
