My goal is this: IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY ALERT THE MANAGER BEFORE ORDERING because as clear as we were, the server could have cared less.
More detail below but that’s my point. I do apologize sincerely for the Low rating because the place is adorable.
This place is SO CUTE! we were excited to try the place out.
I love Mexican but we rarely go when in transit because I am allergic to things like ️ peppers.
At our local Mexican place, we go there because the refried beans do not have jalapeño and I always buy easy things that are not prepared ahead otherwise, like carne asada.
So we go here and are charmed!
The server comes up and I immediately stuff up in my nose… he must have bathed in cologne and guess who also has allergies to things like this? Yeah. Me.
We wait too long to get our order taken. My husband explains my allergies and made it abundantly clear. We said, no red no green no orange no jalapeño- I will get sick.
So the quaso arrives – the one we were assured has no pepper. I am mortified because my throat swells immediately. I was stupid and didn’t mistrust – and I have never had spicy queso in my life so it was a surprise.
The kitchen is AMAZING they remade my queso!! They deserve 5 stars because it doesn’t sound like to me that they were made aware because the server OBVIOUSLY didn’t take this allergy seriously.
They didn’t have carne asada in the menu so I went with a chimichanga. Again reminder no peppers.
The filling did indeed come with no peppers but I couldn’t eat it because there was peppers in that queso it was drowned in, peppers in the refried beans…
My throat was swelling and I was having trouble – my husband went to get the waiter and told him there are peppers. He said that there are no peppers but there are jalepenos.
I had to leave the restaurant because I was swelling.
I saw the manager and told him- to his credit he was mortified and made it right.
I don’t like giving low stars for restaurants the industry is having enough trouble as it is.
