This was a cozy Mexican restaurant just perfect for an evening Seafood of authentic, great-tasting food. Every customer received a cup of fish soup which was delicious in addition to the usual Tostitos and dip. They offered calamari cocktail which I thought I would try. Much larger than I expected, but very good and filled with calamari as well as spices and tomatoes, topped with avocado. For the main course I decided to try the fish prepared in a special manner with olives and onions and the tomato sauce. Excellent. The waitresses we’re very attentive to our needs and kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay and that we did have all of the refills that we needed. One convenient thing for those of us that do not speak Spanish is that the menu had English underneath so that you could understand more of what it was you were ordering. I try to rate restaurants based on their competition rather than the usual dollar comparison. We’ve tried a number of Mexican restaurants in the area and this is one of the better seafood restaurants we have gone to. Fortunately it is also close to where we were staying.

Very quick trip from Port Isabel. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. The decor is comforting and put together with an authentic hand. The food was authentic and very reasonably priced; freshly prepared as you order and not from pre-packaged food service distributors. Portions were exceptional and the chips and salsa were very delicious. The staff were very prompt and helpful and graciously served as tourist guides when we asked the questions about the area.
There is ample parking and I do believe the front door is on the same level as the parking lot, which makes it wheelchair accessible.

We had lunch at Mi Tierra and thoroughly enjoyed it. Chips, salsa and soup on the house was a great start before the entree arrived. I went with the seafood platter – fish, shrimp, salad and sides, it was delicious! I really liked the batter they used and it was cooked perfectly. We will definitely go back!

The place looks clean and well kept. The food was also wonderful. The service was not as good. The waiter was alone and had a few tables. She took very long to come to our table. She took our order by memory not on a notepad which caused a few mistakes. She seemed new and confused. The management team should assign at least two waitresses on a Saturday evening.

Friday is for seafood, and this place met our expectations. Ate a delicious Ceviche tostada for appetizer, and for the entree got the 1/2 fried fish. I was satisfied, do recommend!

Mi Tierra is easily the best seafood spot in Brownsville, and I have made it my personal mission to try every seafood place in town to be sure. The service is consistently friendly and welcoming. Everything I have tried here has been exceptional. The portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for the quality and quantity you get. 10/10
