Great family-run restaurant, big portions for reasonable prices. We ate in and were given a complimentary basket of freshly made chips, which were fantastic paired with their four different salsa selections. We split carnitas, fried fish and carne asada tacos. We were very hungry and decided to stop by for lunch. Based on the Google reviews, this place seemed like a good choice. But when we ordered the Carne Asada burrito and finally received it, we were shocked.
This should NOT be called a Carne Asada burrito — it was basically a guacamole tortilla burrito. There was almost no meat, the burrito was tiny(the price was 16 bucks), and the tortilla was folded over itself six times throughout the whole thing. On top of that, it even gave me heartburn.
I do not recommend this place. This was by far the worst carne asada burrito I’ve ever had in my life.

Looking for authentic Mexican food without the drive to Mexico? This restaurant has a family like home vibe that immediately makes you feel welcome. My chilaquiles estaban para chuparse los dedos – not only were they delicious, but the portion was incredibly generous! Even the guy at the table next to us was raving about his tacos. Terrible. I got the carne asada combo and the food was terrible for the price. The meat was under seasoned and the tortilla tasted like a mission tortilla from the store. Not authentic at all and extremely disappointing. I would have rather gone to Taco Bell.

Top 3 Mexican food places in SD county!Amazing service, the owner Mauricio is almost always working, greets people with “Welcome home” and it feels genuinely warm and inviting. The excellent food is consistent and reliable. Salsa bar is great and the atmosphere is chill and unassuming. Portions and quality have stayed consistently reliable. The Seafood burrito is a must-try, and all of ‘Los Favoritos’ are great. Worth the stop! A+

This is a Gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend the surf and turf burrito and Salsa bar. Just try it and see. Healthy, wholesome food that wont break the budget. The owner Kurosh is a great guy and openminded to feedback if you have any ideas that can make the place better. Definitely coming back.

To be clear, the woman who answered the phone was very kind and helpful. This review is strictly about the food.
The fish was a total scam. There was barely any fish at all. It was chopped up into tiny pieces, almost like salsa, and extremely poorly prepared. We paid $55 and did not actually receive fish in our entrees.
We specifically requested no pineapple, yet pineapple was included anyway. I also asked if the tostada was a shell like a taco bowl and was told yes, but it was not. It was a tiny, stale fried tortilla that tasted like it was cooked in very old, unpleasant oil.
The beans were completely unseasoned and bland. After only a few bites, our stomachs started hurting, which was very concerning.
Overall, this food was inedible and not worth the money at all. We will not be returning.
