Now, while the atmosphere isn’t exactly the best, the food makes up for it a million times over. I ordered an enchilada, and even before it arrived I was greeted with some delicious chips and top notch salsa. When the main course arrived I was blown away. Best Mexican I’ve ever had, easily. I would come back here anytime, thank you for the meal!

Super excited we found this place. We are from Utah and finding good Mexican food can be hard out here in the islands. Definitely will be coming back. Food was super good. The salsa for the chips was super spicy tho. And you can only use cash here no cards.

Loved the food.. inside atmosphere is not awesome, but it’s clean and I came for great grub. Had the Combo #27, Carnitas Enchilada and Soft Taco, with Chili Rellenos. All super yummy. Very affordable for Hawaii. If the street is crowded, lots of parking around back.

Visiting from the desert Southwest where Mexican food is common and makes up a large portion of our diet, we found Mi Ranchito to be both authentic and delicious. After sampling a wide selection of items I can heartily recommend them. The smokiness of their flavor added a wonderful counterpoint to the mild spiciness. This may well be the best Mexican food on the island and is definitely one of the most affordable places to eat a large filling meal.

I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food is for being in Hawaii (I’m a Texas gal) gave me the fix I needed. Not 5 star I’m not crazy about the salas.. I want chunky not blended but that’s a personal preference! Over all highly recommended if you need a fix of Mexican food

This place is our favorite and most authentic Mexican food on all the islands. It is located in Hawi (Big Island). For 14 years we have been eating here. The Chili Rellenos are the very best anywhere. We are originally from Texas and New Mexico, so I can validate my statement. If you are north on the island of Hawaii, do stop in. *** OF NOTE, THEY ONLY TAKE CASH! Do not pull out your credit card. It also is BYOB, no problem!
