Showed up at 8:30 and they closed at 9. Was on a long road trip and really needed to eat. They said no need to apologize we got you and served me some of the most lovely and well priced food. The servers were great. Bathrooms clean. 10/10 would come back absolutely any time.

1st time at Mi Ranchito after it was recommended to me. The chips were light and crispy, salsa was seasoned very well. I had a combination dinner which included 1 hard taco, 1 beef enchilada and 1 Chile relleno. The beef in both the taco and the enchilada tasted like it had zero seasoning. The red sauce on the enchilada saved it, but this was possibly the worst taco I have ever eaten. I know that authentic Mexican does not season their tacos like Taco Bell or most home cooked American mexican (and that is why I love authentic Mexican!, but this tasted like just fried ground beef with zero salt, zero seasoning. The chile relleno was pretty good, but not good enough to make up for the other items. I also had an original margarita on the rocks and it was VERY good and the best part of my meal. Atmosphere was a bust for me. Very small “bar”, (4 barstools and probably a former cash stand of a fast food restaurant) if you could call it that, which I would have chosen to sit at (I always choose bar seating when available) but was occupied with staff eating. No music, just the sound of staff having fun in the kitchen and chips crunching in the mouths of the few patrons inside. The building looks to be a former fast food joint and needs a major redo/update. I am a “hole-in-the-wall” lover, but I was not excited from the moment I walked in. Staff was friendly and service was quick though. I don’t see myself revisiting, sadly.

My family are devoted regulars to this establishment, so I felt lucky to get to experience “the best Mexican food and margaritas in Owensboro”. Had the pollo primavera which was excellent. And the salsa was so good too!! Can’t wait to join them again next time I’m in town

Excellent. Been driving by a full parking lot for a few years. Finally stopped by for a meal. Found out why parking lot is always full. Because the food is great, service is exceptional, and prices are very reasonable.

First time eating here (takeout). The food was good (this dish compared to other places), but this is the smallest portion I’ve ever seen. For simple chicken and cheese, this is what you get for $7?! Similar chicken/cheese bowls from two other popular restaurants contain a lot more!
