Goodness!! The food was outstanding! Service was great. My daughter and I went there for supper today. And we were blown away with everything. So many options and huge portions, the salsa bar was a superb addition. I will definitely be making this my go to restaurant!

I have to agree with the other reviewers this place is excellent. Meal started with complimentary chips and bean dip (frijole salsa) which had great flavor and the server brought me some very spicy salsa that I mixed with the dip.
I originally intended to get the posole which I don’t usually see at mexican restaurants in my area but the Puerto Nuevo Camarones caught my eye.
I was NOT disappointed, the flavor was great and shrimp were not overcooked which you can get when. Trying to cook the bacon to be crispy. The sauce they poured over complimented the shrimp and bacon well.
My only recommendation is make sure you are VERY hungry because the plates are huge! I had another full meal the next day.
I will definitely be back to get my posole and try out other items in the very expensive menu.

We took at couple hour drive into Lenoir NC.
We found the Mi Molcajete restaurant from a search for restaurants in the area .
Restaurant was clean and light on Mexican deco but tasteful.
Our server was very helpful, friendly and attentive. She took our drink order and brought bean dip, salsa and chips. The bean dip was served steaming hot and very good. The salsa was excellent. Very nice fresh taste.
We placed our order for the Molcajete and the Pollo Molcajete.
Both entrees arrived fairly quickly. Each plates was a show by themselves . Attractively presented.
The food tasted fresh, nicely spiced. The shrimp, chicken, steak chorizo were all very good. The bowl of bean soup was out of this world flavorful. We asked for both flour and corn tortillas so we could decide which we liked best . Honestly we loved both the flour and corn tortillas. I believe they were made in store. They were very light and tender.
We will definitely make our way back to Lenoir NC just to visit the Mi Molcajete restaurant.
1 -not even a bad thing, just the steak sliced so thin, needs to be in a juice to not dry out. I found plenty of juices to help it out. Just service of it in a Molcajete and being long thin

Stop here after looking for a Mexican restaurant on Google with good reviews. It is now our go to food is consistent and always good. Drinks are also good even if you order one that is not on the menu. They are very welcoming and fast service. This place has 100 rating on their food grade. That alone is hard to find. I recommend this place if you are passing through or live in the area, is worth the visit.

What a nice surprise. I was in Lenoir last week visiting family and honestly picked this place because we were late getting into town and they were open. Anyway, the food was 1st rate. I had the Guadalajara steak and a margarita. Steak was generously portioned and cooked just right. Lots of vegetables which is always a plus for me. Even the rice was much better than in other Mexican restaurants. I was also very happy with the prices. Needless to say this is now my go to place in Lenoir.

Authentic Mexican food with top notch service. This is a hidden gem in downtown Lenoir. The menu offerings are huge. Good friendly service and our food was served fast. It’s an absolutely wonderful place to eat.

Ordered the molcajeta and it’s such a great value! A large dish with fluffy rice, dressed lettuce, and some amazing beans as the sides. Some fresh made corn tortillas on the along the mortar bowl filled with chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo proteins. The flayed pepper in the middle is beautiful and delicious. My only critique is that since the steak is cut so thin and being served in a cold plastic bowl the meat cooled down pretty fast and hardened quicker than anticipated, yet still flavorful. Definitely a gem in Lenoir and I can’t wait to go back and try something else!
