My cousin used to live in SLC and knows all the good spots to hit up. So when she suggested this joint for dinner tonight, I knew it was going to be good.

We showed up a before my cousin. We hung out after we put ourselves on the wait list. We got sat as soon as my cousin arrived. We got a nice table towards the back wall. We were in a good spot to check out the whole venue. This joint is a small venue but can hold quite a few tables. There were also a few private rooms which was pretty cool. It was poppin for a Thursday night.

Our waiter came and dropped off waters. By the time he came back around, we all knew what we wanted. My cousin started us off with some cha gio. I snagged the pho special and my cousin ordered the tofu with mixed vegetables.

The cha gio was dropped off first. They were quite tasty! The exterior was rice paper and is the only way cha gio should be made! I love the crunchiness of the fried rice paper. The filling was savory. Paired with the fish sauce, the ultimate sweet and savory combo! My pho came out piping hot! It looked like a smaller bowl but I was so wrong. I kept eating the noodles and thought I would never finish. You get a good amount of brisket, steak, meatballs, tripe and tendons. The broth was rich and warm. Everything about that bowl of pho was fantastic!

The only flaw about this joint is the parking. Their parking lot of really small. But other than that, service was great! The food was fantastic! The venue was welcoming and warm. I had a great dinner here tonight. I’m happy I got to check this joint out while staying here in SLC.

My husband and I wanted a date night and this place had great reviews. We brought our four month old along as well. The restaurant did a great job of accomodating our car seat taking up a little extra space and were willing to make adjustments as needed! We did have a wait. I believe we were quoted 25 minutes but it was closer to 15 so entirely doable. We ordered some egg rolls, some garlic fried tofu, orange chicken, and beef lo mein. I wasn’t in the mood to try their pho that day but I’ll definitely have to come back and try it. The food was all delicious and the portion sizes were huge so it was a great value for the money! Service was very good. They collaborated well and made sure we had everything. They checked on us to pour us water maybe a few too many times! We definitely home to make it back soon.

Many gluten free options which we appreciate!

We ordered chicken pho (We changed to chicken broth, seems like it’s usually beef broth) and pork chop rice. The pho was fresh and had a well-balanced flavor, and the texture of the chicken was great. The pork chop was the best I’ve had in the States so far. It’s more on the sweeter side but I really liked it. The thickness was perfect, and the texture was pretty good too. Portion-wise it’s definitely enough for adults. Highly recommended.

This place is SO GOOD! We went here on a whim because we heard good things and it didn’t disappoint! We got there around 5pm and it was already super busy. Luckily since there were only two of us the wait was 5-10 minutes long. There were two huge groups in there so I assume they made a far in advance reservation because of how busy they get! The parking is not great. You’re either on the street or you find a spot in the small lot. There aren’t that many tables/booths so it makes the service quicker. We got the Crab Rangoons ($8.5), (Beef Lo Mein ($16), and Orange Chicken ($16). The portions were big both in quantity and size (especially the chicken pieces! which I loved). It came out quick and the servers are all so nice and attentive! The reason I deducted a star on the food is it came out slightly more room temp then I was expecting… Maybe it was just mine or the time we went. We split the bill and spent $22 (before tip) each which isn’t bad considering all we got and leftovers! The Beef Lo Mein was our favorite, SO DELICIOUS!

We had a great dining experience here with a group of seven, and the staff handled everything very smoothly. They were welcoming, attentive, and made sure our tables had what we needed throughout the meal.

The menu was excellent, offering not only classic Vietnamese dishes but also a nice variety of Chinese options. The pho was flavorful and satisfying, the fresh spring rolls were light and refreshing, and the house stir fried beef had a great balance of flavors. The chicken lettuce wraps were another highlight – very tasty. Everyone in our group found something they really enjoyed, which made the meal even better.

Practical details added to the experience as well. Parking was free, easy, and close by, which made getting in and out simple. The restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere, casual but clean, and worked well for both a small group like ours and what would be a casual dinner for two.

Overall, this was a very positive dining experience. Between the quality of the food, the variety of both Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, the friendly service, and the convenient parking, Mi La Cai is a spot I would be happy to visit again on my next trip to Salt Lake City. Highly recommended if you are looking for fresh, delicious Asian food with great value and a welcoming environment.

The service was hmmm.. the best!! The employees were attentive, calm, and communicate very well. How do I say it? Like the tone and the warm attitude already got you. Well, Felt in love with the server instead of the Pho. 5 stars. Another employee went to me car to return my credit card which I had left on the table. 6 stars ******

This is my new favorite place for noodles, I had ordered the house chow fun. The dish is well worth the $17 price and the portions are good sized. The menu is very reasonably priced with a wide range of dishes from soups to noodles. The staff are super friendly.
