Excellent mexican restaurant on Beech Mountain. The reviews on here are unfair. Cane here with a group of 8, we received excellent service. The restaurant looks well maintained, bathrooms clean, and overall a great experience. Prices are fair, quality was great. Great spot to get margaritas with friends without breaking the bank. Beautiful view looking out the mountain.

We have been eating here for the past couple of years when we visit Beech Mt. The food is always good and staff friendly and attentive. You can get margaritas with a salt or sugar rim and frozen. When you enter through the door you do have to climb stairs to get to the restaurant. There is not an elevator. The parking lot is gravel. I saw a number of reviews which talked about the terribly stained carpet. This time when I visited their flooring had been replaced with lvp type flooring so will be much easier to keep clean.

I can’t say enough about Mi Jalisco. The service was amazing, the food was fabulous, everything was perfect.
I have to be honest, I questioned it a little after seeing the negative reviews. We walked in got a seat, our drink orders were taken and arrived promptly there after, we needed a few minutes to decide and after about 4-5 minutes our waiter checked on us and we ordered, food was out in under 10 minutes hot and fresh. We ate happily and asked for to go boxes and our check which took about 10 mins bc the restaurant had gotten busy but it was no worry to as we were finishing our beers. Paid and left. Whole dinner lasted from about 4:30-5:10-15ish. Our waiter was super nice and got everything we asked for with no hesitation.4 beers, queso, 2 dinners, under 60 bucks.

Well I would have to say this was by far the best food I had on my vacation. We went to several different ones in town. The customer service was certainly the best. The food was so fresh and amazing. We ended it eating there several days in a row because it was the only restaurant in town we enjoyed the food at. Fajitas were on point! Very friendly and accommodating. Certainly recommend if you are staying in town on vacation.

Read this: DO NOT GO HERE. First, you walk in and trip off a step that isn’t marked. Secondly, if you’re in a wheelchair, you’re not going to eat here because there is no elevator and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The waitress didn’t know if they had eggs. It took 25 minutes AFTER ordering a drink to order food. Then it took another 25 minutes to receive the food. Furthermore it took 20 minutes to get a refill on the first drink. The food looks like prison food. The servers are a relative of Harry Houdini as they disappear. Waited 20 minutes after eating to receive the bill that I had to ask for. A simple dinner that took over 90 minutes. DO NOT GO HERE!

We had a very pleasant time and experience at Mi Jalisco Mexican Grill today.
The staff is friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome.
Our food was very good. I got the Mi Jalisco Special, which is one tamale, two chicken taquitos, and a chalupa. My wife got the Loco Cheesestaek and enjoyed it. They have a salsa bay with a selection of about ten different salsas.
The atmosphere has a nice Mexican feel.
I would go back when we’re in town again.

I had an amazing experience here today! The food was fresh, hot and beautifully plated. Delicious variations. The staff was extremely polite as well! Left with a full, satisfied belly. If I’m ever in town again (I live in kentucky) i will definitely be coming back!!

Chuy was so rude, gave attitude, and the other servers (bless their hearts) genuinely seemed uninterested in working there. The only other family in the restaurant also made multiple requests to send food back, so when my friends and I brought out concerns to him as well, it seemed he was not in the mood and took it out on one of my friends when she ordered chile con queso and was brought a corn tortilla with bland queso on top. We have never seen chile con queso look like this…and expected her to pay $8 for it??
Wild experience, we were out of town visitors who cannot express how disappointed we were in this restaurant. Do not waste your time.

The staff were very friendly and prompt. It seems to be a family run restaurant. The food and drinks were very good. I would call it traditional Mexican food but better than most of the Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in North Carolina. Growing up in Southern California, I have high standards for Mexican food. Had the sangria which was very good, tasted like homemade. I had a combination meal with an enchilada and a chili relleno. I like ground beef and it was very good. They give two options on the chile relleno one being a poblano chili which is what I would consider traditional and the other being the southern chile relleno which consists of a bell pepper ground beef and some cheese. They also serve rice and beans which is great because I like both and some restaurants make you choose one or the other. The only reason I am not giving a five is due to general condition of the restaurant which was a little rundown but I would go back over and over again regardless of that. The location is good on Beech Mountain and there’s a little view from a good portion of the seating area.

Avoid This Place at All Costs
Where do I even begin? This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. First off, the atmosphere was a nightmare. It felt like they took “dive bar” and somehow made it worse—dim lighting, uncomfortable seating, and a general vibe of “we don’t care, so why should you?” The place looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 90s, and not in a nostalgic way.
Now, the staff? Absolutely horrendous. From the moment we walked in, we were met with rudeness at every turn. The waitstaff acted like we were bothering them by simply existing. No smiles, no politeness, just an overwhelming sense of disdain. We actually had to flag down a server just to place our order, and even then, it felt like we were interrupting them from their deep conversation about their personal life.
As for the food? Completely underwhelming. It wasn’t awful, but it sure wasn’t good either. Bland, soggy, and unseasoned—honestly, I’ve had better microwave Mexican food. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar, and don’t even get me started on the tacos. If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful, authentic Mexican food, this isn’t it.
And the wait. Over an hour for food? Completely unacceptable, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. We watched as tables around us, who had arrived well after we did, were served before us. It’s like they forgot we were there, and when the food finally arrived, it wasn’t even worth the wait.
Save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else. This place has zero redeeming qualities.
EDIT : we also ended up with food poisoning the next morning… coincidence?
