We love this place! We’re so excited to have authentic, delicious Mexican food in the area! Everything we’ve tried has been amazing, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We love that they have some dishes with poblano peppers (our favorite smoky spicy flavor), including the chile relleno which is fantastic in it’s cheesy sauce. Highly recommend this place, we try to get up there weekly!

Food is plentiful with lots of flavor. Portion sizes are definitely worth the price. The menu has something for everyone with variety. Food is authentic and served rather quickly.

The food was delicious. The staff was a bit scattered. Possibly short handed. The manager was a super nice woman. The building used to be an old pizza place and arcade. They did their best to fix the place up, all things considered but you can tell the building has had better days. There was also rice in the salt and pepper Shaker? Maybe a culture thing?

FANTASTIC, easily my new favorite place to eat!!!!! We had a table of 5. It was on a Friday night and still got seated right away. Servers were all Wonderful, super friendly and on top of everything. THE FOOD, the food was EXCELLENT! Everything we ordered was top notch. Over all I rate thus place a 1000/100

Finally! I had been teased for so long with that “coming soon” banner and Houghton Lake really needed something better than Taco Bell for Mexican food.
Now we do.
MI Centenario is a fiesta for all the senses! Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food itself; colorful, unique, authentic Mexican fare and all at very reasonable prices!
I’d already started in on my selection before it occurred to me to shoot a picture of it, but it was a mouth watering combination of shrimp, scallions and mushrooms in a sauce that
pulls it all together and leaves you truly satisfied!
To quote Ahnuld, “I’ll be back”!

Really excited to have some delicious Mexican food you don’t have to drive an hour for!! We went around 2pm on a Saturday and it was about half full, the service was great, the food was delicious, no complaints! Thanks for the amazing experience!

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant in our way from Michigan to Indiana. It was a wonderful surprise to find this recently opened place. Food was great. I had beans with rice Pico and guacamole. My husband had sopapillas for lunch. The place was packed. The waiters were nice and checked on us many times. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the AC. It was so cold we had to go the car to get our sweaters. The sugn on the bathroom door was funny

What an absolute gem in Houghton Lake! We stumbled upon this little Mexican restaurant and were blown away. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, the prices were great, and the atmosphere was cute and welcoming. There were so many options on the menu, and every dish we tried was delicious.
I’m from the Detroit suburbs where we have endless Mexican food choices, and this honestly ranks among some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.
Minor downsides are they don’t serve alcohol and the chips were just okay for me personally (I prefer really thin chips), but the salsa was excellent—fresh, thin, and full of flavor.
If you’re anywhere near Houghton Lake, this place is a must-stop. We’ll absolutely be back.
