As a Texan my palate is more advanced and, the custom to good Mexican food. This is Mississippi so I’m not sure they’re used to good Mexican food is here. Or they’re not used to seasoning.
Pros: Chips and service
Atmosphere was great
Great service
Chips were good
Cons: Taste like if Walmart made Mexican food
Food had little to no seasoning. Even with salt and pepper it was still bland.
Tortillas didn’t look or taste homemade
No military discount

The service and atmosphere were fine and I’m not sure what I expected but I was very disappointed. The beans had no flavor, the cheese had a weird texture and flavor. I will wait till I’m back in Texas or Los Angeles for some Mexican food.

Excellent service. Chips & salsa were great. Combo meals about $11. I had a taco salad, husband had a fajita burrito. Both were delicious!

Wanted to try this place out and we were not disappointed. It’s not expensive, the food was delicious, and the service was great. The food came very fast. The portions were a nice size they are not stingy. The atmosphere was really laid back wasn’t noisy so you can have a nice conversation. The flour tortilla chips were really good. You have to ask for those and they are like $4.50 and come with cheese sauce. I got the number 54 and my wife the 55 and they were really good. I think you would enjoy it as a quiet date night or as a nice family dinner spot. Will be going back.

This is one of our regular lunch stops in Laurel & it never disappoints. The decor stands out in a good way and both the food and service are consistently good. Last but not least the Margaritas are always good and the beer is always cold.

My partner and I came here yesterday and I had to come and show some love on a review! The workers we encountered there were all sweet including our amazing waiter. Our food came out so fast and it was so hot that we had to let it cool a little and boy were my Texas Fajitas delicious! Our waiter and other waiters kept a good eye on our drinks as well. Very nice and comfortable atmosphere as well. I also loved how the workers helped each other with other guest. We will be back soon and stay great!

My food was good but they dont give you enough time to look over the menu and decide something waitress kept rushing us and them sitting me next to people that was loud and talking mess didn’t please me at all some ppl want to eat in peace. Then they play that aggravating music that makes my head hurt. I get that its a mexican restaurant but really they can change it up. Just to expensive there. The Alamo is the best mexican restaurant in Laurel, Ms. I give this place 3 stars only because my dish was good. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I sure won’t eat here again.

Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you enjoy the worst service of your life…. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The food was decent, but that’s it. The service was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. I’m not one to complain especially when it comes to bars and restaurants; I worked over a decade in the service industry. I still hold a valid responsible vendors license. Our waitress couldn’t answer simple questions about the drink menu or the kids menu from the moment we sat down. She checked on us maybe 3 times during our almost 2 hour visit due to the slow service. Our food was out within minutes of placing our order so we were so excited to see how the meal would go. We are evacuated from south Louisiana due to Hurricane Ida and everyone, everywhere we go has been so helpful and compassionate to our circumstances. Not this disgusting staff. I ordered food for my disabled mother to go and a margarita with it. After waiting 30 or so minutes, I finally received the drink. Then as we waited another 20+ minutes to pay our $100 check for a family of 4 that includes 2 kids, I asked our waitress why she hadn’t come to get our money. Apparently, you’re supposed to pay on your way out, which no one bothered to tell us. And we weren’t allowed to take a $20 margarita “to-go” after it was ordered and brought to our table. When we asked the manager how we as were supposed to know the rules, he stated that you should ALWAYS check with a manager to see if your waiter gave you the right information. We asked if we could get that statement recorded “Always ask the manager, don’t rely on our servers” If our waitress would have simply told us that we couldn’t get a drink to go, we would have never ordered it. That simple! Never in my life had I had someone not tell me the process for paying a bill. And most definitely, no one has ever avoided questions by a guest. Costumers come first in any service industry.
