Javier y Veronica Rodriguez, somos orginarios de Guadalajara, Jalisco se pude dicer la segunda capital de Mexico. In 1988, we purchased a six unit apartment complex it was a fixer upper, so my husband and I did all the work, rented all units to my family we loved being landlords and my husband also managed a Mexican restaurant. After three years we had a premature baby, so I spent 6 weeks going and coming back from the hospital. Javier, my husband lost his job and we decided to sell the apartment unit. On October 8th, 1992 we opened one of the first Mexican restaurants in Fort Payne known as Mi Casita, now serving delicious Mexican food for more than 23 years.

I have eaten here almost every Thursday for the past year and a half. The food is subpar- not the worst but certainly not the best. Today was my last day there. I ordered cheese dip. Not only was it a 2oz bowl and besides the point that I would have paid a small fortune for it, it was cold, not stirred and had a clump of jalapeños in it…. No big deal, right? Except my son will not eat it. I could have fished them out, I guess. But I simply asked for another one- explaining the situation. I was going to eat a little and take the rest home for him. The server agreed to take it back. When he got in the back, I COULD HEAR HIM! He was mad because I had asked for another. He was talking crap about me for sending it back. The worst part — the reason for the review— HE DID SOMETHING TO MY FOOD!! You lost a good customer over a 2 oz cheese dip.

For the past 8 months, my husband and I have regularly ordered take-out from Mi Casita. We have tried an array of menu items, but we seem to favor the Changa Chicken and the Fajita Special. Our food has been consistently hot and delicious and nicely packaged. The portions have been generous and worth the price we’ve paid. It is our pleasure to recommend Mi Casita Restaurant.

Really enjoyed the fast and friendly service. All the food was great. We were happy to have a convenient place to eat that without an hour long wait to be seated. They are a couple miles from downtown but worth the drive.

This is the best Mexican food around. It’s on the other side of town but entirely worth the drive. The food is always exceptional and the service is outstanding. The ladies working are so kind and helpful. They have good vegetarian food as well, which just speaks for how flavorful and well cooked everything is. Their salsa is my all time favorite of any around and has a nice kick. The cheese dip is a bit runny and has mostly a sweet milk taste, but their guacamole is amazing. It’s my go to spot and I highly recommend it!!!

Not good here folks … This is in the middle of nowhere and their prices here to start are extremely high compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I’m from Nashville and the prices here are way higher than most of the places I frequent in town there. Which brings me to the food which was just terrible. I had a burrito Gigante with shrimp. The burrito was huge , but 5 shrimp was all it had in it. There were some pieces of shrimp, but only 5 actual shrimp. Then I asked for no mushrooms and found bits and pieces of mushrooms. The rest of the ingredients were fillers ! Rice and bean was 90% of the burrito that was just bad … So I had the burrito , side of well done onions ( I had to send back to cook further ) and 1 bottle of beer. A whopping $24.00 ! Yikes ! I could have had a full 2 person order of fajitas at my local spot for $24.99. This is only a means to help this restaurant get better by reviewing their establishment. I hope they do so, as not to lose business to the other 4 Mexican restaurants within 5 miles.
