Food in generally good here. But when I ordered tonight I’ve been let down by ordering 2 Spaghetti Bolognase’s with literally a tablespoon of bolognase. Do you think this is justified for £12 a portion?

No idea how this place has such good reviews because this was genuinely one of the worst pizzas I’ve had. The aubergine was sliced about an inch thick, same with the peppers and artichokes — just big, clunky chunks thrown on top. Completely bland as well. Grill marks don’t equal flavour. It honestly tasted like no one seasoned it.
The base was a joke. Floppy, soggy in the middle, chewy round the edges and collapsed the second you tried to pick up a slice. If this is “authentic Italian” then we’ve lost the plot.
Looked decent in the box but zero balance, zero flavour and zero structure. £13 for this and it couldn’t even hold itself together. Even Tesco’s Finest would’ve done a better job.

Overall my experience was average, please see my review below:
Food: The pasta was creamy and tasty, however, wasn’t as flavourful as I expected.
Service: The lady serving was very attentive and quick with our orders. The man (who seemed to be the owner), seemed dismissive and not welcoming.
Price: The classic saying if ‘ you pay for what you get’ didn’t seem to apply to this restaurant. The price of desserts seemed overpriced, but the pasta and mains more inline with what’s expected.
I would probably visit again, but I would also consider other Italian local options.

The staff are all so lovely and friendly, they even help you make up your mind when you’re uncertain what to have! The facilities are clean and well kept, the atmosphere is cosy yet spacious. We look forward to every opportunity to come back! Our favourites are the carbonara and another dish with pistachios crushed and mixed in. Their desserts are freshly made on site and if you get the chance try their profiteroles, you won’t be disappointed!

We have been to Mezzaluna a couple of times. Lovely food, welcoming staff, very clean and comfortable. Also good prices for quality, home made food. Good amount of choice for vegetarians. We will be back!

Enjoyable place to eat, proper italian food. Loved the simple decoration. The pizza was good and my pasta al salmon was to die for, the croquettes were too fatty for me expected them to be just simple, couldn’t eat them as the pasta dish was big portion. Definitely worth trying
