We kicked off our Renton Restaurants Dinner Club at Mexicuban and it was the perfect first stop!!

Originally a Seattle food truck turned brick-and-mortar in Renton, Mexicuban brings such a fun and flavorful fusion of Mexican and Cuban cuisine. Every dish had bold seasoning and thoughtful presentation. You can tell they care about what they’re creating.

We ordered family style so we could try as much as possible, and it did not disappoint. The street corn was packed with flavor, the mole croquettes were rich and crispy, the plantains were perfectly caramelized, and the Cuban-spiced pork was tender and full of depth. Even the stuffed churros were next-level.

The atmosphere felt welcoming and lively without being overwhelming, and the service was friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger and order one more thing just to see what else you’ve been missing.

If you haven’t been yet, add it to your list. Supporting local while experiencing Renton’s food scene is exactly why we started Dinner Club, and Mexicuban set the bar high.

The happy hour is excellent—great prices, generous portions, and drinks that are actually worth ordering. The food never misses: bold flavors, beautifully prepared dishes, and a menu that makes it impossible to choose just one thing. On top of that, the service is consistently fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the experience. We keep coming back, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend.

There are many Mexican restaurants in town. Some even have culinary influences from other Hispanic or Latin cultures. Now, make a restaurant that hits those fusion notes, and make it something all of their own. A place that celebrates these unique differences and then puts it on a plate.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you MexiCuban in Renton!

MexiCuban has food trucks that lure you in to their style of cooking, and has other locations, like in West Seattle, Washington, that lets you know they are here to stay. In Renton, the decor is set to put you in a mood that you will be tasting their signature cuisines. And I was definitely ready to eat!

Looking at their menu ahead of time is encouraged, so you can prepare yourself, but I was ready to walk-in and take it all in! We were welcome by staff and the owner themselves and treated to their specials to include smoked margaritas (with only the best tequila), and their Croquetes con Mole to start us off. I was overwhelmed by their pulled pork, and grilled salmon offerings. Each had their own seasonal flair with rice, grilled corn and mole, all to excite the senses.

Also don’t forget to try their signature fluffy pulled pork taco. It’s what I start out with everytime.

The service is also top notch with an attentive staff that really wants you to have a great dining experience. Allow them to show off a little – they are proud of their work, and I am proud to call them a restaurant to bring friends to for a special meal!

Come see how the Renton MexiCuban does it.
And don’t forget, the menu is subject to change for the season. So you will have to come back for more. I definitely recommend it!

Went for a friend’s birthday dinner. 4 people. Drinks were delicious. I got a coconut margarita and it was creamy enough and tasty. We ordered the corn and ceviche to share for the table. And chimichurri steak, puffy pork belly tacos, steak tacos (forget the name) and the owner suggested a salad with shrimp. We loved all the dishes. But the ladies were saying the salad was the best. It kind of like a lettuce wrap. With veggies, shrimp, pineapple and jalapeño. Would definitely go again.

I recently visited this Mexican and Cuban restaurant, and had an amazing experience! The vibrant atmosphere and colorful decor immediately caught our attention.

We ordered a variety of dishes, including tacos, burritos, and ropa vieja. The food was incredibly flavorful, and the portions were generous. The jalapeño pork belly open faced sandwiches were tender and juicy, papas rellenas were delicious and filling while the chicken pibil was fall-apart tender and full of flavor. Sauce was similar to birria sauce.

The service was attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations.

The restaurant’s lively atmosphere and upbeat music added to the overall experience. It’s a great spot for a casual dinner or gathering with friends.

The prices were reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and high-quality ingredients and drinks.

If you’re a fan of Mexican and Cuban cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. Be sure to try croquettes, pibil chicken and pork belly appetizer sandwiches.

Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mexican and Cuban food.

I still can’t get over this meal! Came for the happy hour menu. We ended up getting some from the HH menu and had to try the fluffy tacos as well from the regular menu. All the food was fantastic! So hard to find good food at restaurants these days but this place was awesome! We’ll definitely be coming back. The owner came to talk with us at our table, super friendly and proud of his restaurant, as he should be. Only thing I would say is I found myself wanting Cuban/mexican music to add to the ambiance. Overall we were super impressed and can’t wait to return!

Love this place! Great for drinks after work and definitely for a meal with friends/family. Fun list of cocktails and some seasonal drinks as well, and they don’t skimp on the alcohol. Everything we’ve eaten here has been excellently seasoned and the presentation is gorgeous. The service is incredibly friendly and efficient. It’s an easy stop off of the Maple Valley highway too, with plenty of free parking.

I wish I could give more stars. The staff were warm and welcoming. The space and music were classy. We had the Pork Tostones, Papas Rellenas, and Jalapeño Pork Belly Toasts to start, and recommend all. The Cochinita Pibil and Huatulco Salmon were delicious. Definitely going back.

This was our first time at Mexicuban.
We ordered the Pork Belly Toast as an appetizer. Oh my goodness! Talk about a wonderful sensation of different tastes and flavors. The presentation looked amazing but the taste blew us away.
For our entree, we ordered the Chicken Pibil. Alternate restaurants when you order something with chicken breast it comes out dry and not super flavorful but this was moist and again had incredible flavor. The small plantains on the side amazing, too!
And of course our server Bobbi was outstanding!
Thankfully we live close by so our first visit will for sure not be our last!
