We were looking for a place to eat lunch on a Wednesday and found this one. We sat on the outside deck overlooking the beauty of the lake. The service was friendly and fast. The food options were plentiful. Everyone in our group selected a desirable dish. The food arrived in a short time, presented wonderfully. We all agreed that the food was very favorable and delicious. We highly recommend the Mexico Viejo Tequila Bar.

Best Mexican restaurant at the lake with the best view and I should know the chefs are amazing, the food is always good even on a busy Friday and Saturdays and nights!!! Always fun and excitement to be had—the pictures are from the “Pancakes and Pirates” day breakfast that the owner hosts yearly for the kids and their families. I do know it stays open year round so no matter the time of year you can have an amazing view, great drinks and delicious food!!!

This place has had many locations on Smith Mountain Lake and has always been a local and visitor favorite. And like most Lake restaurants good service hard to come by. At least while you’re waiting a long time for your food you have a gorgeous view of Smith Mountain Lake. My kids said the rice tasted like Hibachi Grill LOL which maybe because that’s what was there before. Overall for SML this restaurant is a great place to visit for drinks or just to bring the family.

Out of town for work and was told this place is a gem. That was an understatement!! Just WOW! Warm and attentive service in a fun and festive atmosphere with amazing food! We really enjoyed eating alfresco during the warm evening. Can’t wait to try some more!

This place was amazing. The drinks, the service, and ESPECIALLY the food was outstanding. The food was authentic, salsa was great and the queso/ cheese sauce was awesome. I don’t often go to Hispanic restaurants and come out with everything being to standard but I had no complaints here. Will definitely visit again the next time i come down to Smith Mountain Lake

The worst customer service I gave EVERY experienced
– we asked for nacho supremos with NO SOUR CREAM NO GUACAMOLE NO REFRIED BEANS
– then bright it and it was runny like soup
– they brought it wrong TWICE the owner came got smart with us.
– I asked him to listen to us because there is a reason here had to bring the same plate multiple times he turned around and walked away and yelled “ I don’t have to listen to you “
– I said “We’ll just leave then” he responded “well Pay your bill and then leave.”
I being African American didn’t see them once treat anyone white this way.
I’m very disappointed at the lack of professionalism they displayed and will NEVER go there again

Great View from the deck outside! Amazing Table-Made Guacamole! Friendly staff, great drinks, and wonderful salsas! I would love to have a vegan option other than veggies and rice but the drinks and gauc are good for me at this time!

My first and last time coming here! Be advised, you will have a better experience going to Cancún Mexican Restaurant. Here are the reasons why I won’t come back
Poor customer service
The host needs more training and less attitude. He was not helpful at all and guessing didn’t share with the waitress that we had been seated. Although it would have been easy to see because we were the second table seated inside.
The waitress really bothered me. Not only did it take over 15 minutes to get waited on (again there were only two tables inside), but she messed up my order. I asked for grilled veggies on my fajita taco salad. However she didn’t put that in the order. She lied twice about my order. She said that the kitchen had gotten my order wrong, but as you can see in the picture, she input “rice”. Then she said that the kitchen was working on it. I waited almost 20 minutes and never got them!!! Just say you messed up and that would have been easier to take.
The food was mediocre at best. The salsa was bland and had no seasoning. There were several huge chunks of tomatoes in it. I guess they were in a rush and didn’t care about the details.
Then my father in law’s fajitas were burned.
Trust me, go elsewhere!

Pretty standard Mexican-American fare. They were pretty short-staffed on July 4th so it took a while for service but the server was doing the best he could. I love the location on the water at Bridgewater Plaza so you can boat here. Also loved the patio furniture we sat on while outside. Food was ok.
