Esmeralda was very kind and welcoming on my first visit. This place has been around for over 40 years and it shows when you see how they are with customers. Like family. Tortillas were warm and fluffy, red sauce was .

Wow! Exploring the area with my mom and wondered here by chance. So glad we did! The fish ceviche was so flavorful and delicious. We had the Asada combination plate which was huge – perfect for one with leftovers for the morning (my preference) or could easily be shared by two. Because we wanted to try more, we also got the Barria combination plate, which was very tender and full of flavor. Pacifico was as expected And an added bonus, the staff (especially Esmeralda) were delightful. Ready to go back tomorrow!

Cozy little Mexican diner restaurant. Spacious inside and outside dining available. A great place to grab some food and relax with family and friends or just eat a great meal. Amazing quick service from staff. In and out within minutes. Highly recommended for a local meal.

To me, this is the best mexican food spot in Escondido. I’ve been coming here for 40 years. The food is very traditional with wonderfull taste and big portions. My go to is the adobada burrito with whole beans. Little hole on the wall spot traditionally decorated. The ladies taking your order are always polite and friendly. You’ll have your food in less than 10 minutes from ordering it. Highly recommend this place.

$21.59 out the door after tip for huevos rancheros. I believe it was over $16 for the dish alone. If it was the best in socal, maybe. It was more comparable to daycare food. Not a single fresh ingredient. Not even any cilantro. Nice enough staff, but also charged more than the insane price listed on the menu hung up. Restaurant is OLD and grimy at best. Not a good look with this pricing/quality. I can appreciate a small diner, this is just run down. Don’t let the reviews fool you. If you need clarification, ask any business around them. They just laughed when I asked about this place.

My friend brought me chille Rellenos takeout and it was the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back for more.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Escondido. The atmosphere, service, and quality is unmatched. Escondido is increasingly being filled with either “concept” restaurants or “new-age” restaurants, which don’t come close to meeting what Mexico Lindo is. Also, the sauce hasn’t changed in the 20 years I’ve been eating here and it is the best.
