The tamales here are some of the best I’ve ever had. They were so good that I visited three times in one week while visiting from Alabama. The tamales were delicious, flavorful, generously filled with meat, and served piping hot and fresh. The pork tamales were my favorite.

The street tacos were solid, with well seasoned meat and fresh toppings. I also tried the caldo de res. It was fresh and steaming hot with quality ingredients, though a bit bland, which is pretty typical for many Mexican caldo soups since it’s mostly a simple broth. A little salt and black pepper did the trick.

The fresh juices were good too. I had the cucumber, lemon, and mint. I wanted to try their pozole verde, but they were closed for New Year’s.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for great street tacos and especially tamales.

Side note: it’s a small establishment with limited seating, so get there early.

Mexico City Kitchen is a very simple, no-frills restaurant, but the flavor truly stands out from the first bite. This is a place where the focus is clearly on the food—and they absolutely deliver.

The red chilaquiles torta and the red chilaquiles are easily some of the best items on the menu, packed with flavor and done right. The pozole, both red and green, is also excellent—well served, full of flavor, and very authentic.

On top of that, the customer service is very good: friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
A simple spot with top-tier Mexican flavors in Indianapolis. Highly recommended.

Family and I visited this place because we saw it online and that it was new.. The food was 100/10! Very delicious. I ordered the pambazo, husband ordered the red pozole, and my son ordered the torta. Everything was amazing! Only downside is it is a VERY small place, so if you plan on eating in, you might have to wait a while (or if your lucky like us, you won’t have to wait at all) the space is limited, so the tables are very much close together. But that is the only downside like I said. The food is definitely worth trying. I did notice they had a banner that they have a second location on Pendleton Pike, which is a lot bigger. Will definitely check that place out soon. But definitely, this place was amazing. They have menus at the entrance, which you can check out in line while you wait to order take out.

A local find with the most authentic greasy yet delicious Mexican food. We ordered enchiladas and quesadillas and mind you the portions looked okay but boy we were so full and stuffed up in the end. Absolutely no space to eat more. We enjoyed our meal and service was so polite and nice.

After looking carefully at them high reviews I said let me give it a try, I didn’t find it super authentic, the ingredients they used mainly for standard fast food dishes in the US, I was hoping to find MORE authentic sauces or textures like the one you find in Mexico.

I was looking for a place on our side of town with chilaquiles and this place made our whole family happy! The servings were hearty, everything was very fresh and hot and the staff was extremely attentive and kind. It is a counter service restaurant, but the staff frequently makes rounds to check on seated guests. Everyone left full and happy and my son was already talking about what he wants to try next time.

We’ve always enjoyed the food here—no complaints when it comes to that. However, our experience today was disappointing and frustrating. We arrived right when they opened, and most of the tables were empty. We sat down, but the older man at the register told us to move because the table was “reserved.”

What really bothered us was that just minutes later, a white couple came in and sat at the exact same table we had been asked to leave—and no one said anything to them. They were allowed to stay without issue.

Later on, we also saw that same man rudely tell another couple that they had to order first before sitting down. The tone and attitude just didn’t feel welcoming at all.

We ended up crammed at a small table that didn’t fit all the food we ordered, and it definitely wasn’t a pleasant dine-in experience. Sadly, I’ll probably stick to takeout from now on. The table layout isn’t great for dining in, and the service felt inconsistent and off-putting. Just a heads-up to anyone planning to eat in—be aware.

This is THE place for authentic Mexican food. From streetplaces food to what abuelas make for the familia on domingo. I have almost completed my quest to try everything on the menu and it is all above excellent. They even help me with my Spanish.
