Social Profile:

Our style is not your typical Mexican food, it is more of a Mexican home cooking which was my mother’s style. A lot of our dishes were created, like the patty tacos are unique, our chile verde is my mother’s recipe. Along with many of our signature recipes, they were passed on to me to follow the tradition of Mexico Cafe. NOTICE: Because of staff shortage we are closed on Mondays. As soon as we can rectify the situation we will open back up. Thank you for your understanding.

This is the only place in Skagit where I grab my menudo! They neeeeever seem to miss. Whoever is whipping this stuff up in the back, I hope you sleep with a cold pillow every single night. Amazing. The staff here is always so friendly. The young girls working tonight greeted me with the warmest welcome. 100000000 out of 10!

I drive by this place all the time, and at lunchtime, it’s packed, so today I went a little early 1130 to try it out! Well, I was not disappointed! I had lunch fajitas and it doesn’t come out sizzling like most places but the display was very nice and the flavor of the meat was amazing!! It actually had seasoning I was shocked! Everything was very good and I swear it was only 12.50, I think ? I could be wrong, but I was shocked most places this would be a lot more. I will definitely be back with mi esposa

Another good find for us displaced Texans searching for good Tex-Mex food. This is not Tex-Mex, but it’s a really good facsimile there of.

It is hard not to have the cheese enchiladas with their bread sauce. I’m going to try to convince them to make a chili con carne sometime, but not until I get to know them better. Other items on the menu are very good as well. The service is great , some of them are from the family that runs the restaurant.

I would not try to put the food into some region of Mexico. I’m sure it is from family recipes and formulated for the current market where it is located. There is nothing spicy about any of this food hint hint ask for jalapeños or bring your own habanero powder.

Chips and salsa are pretty good. Mr. Martinez, the real brains behind Mariano‘s restaurants, always taught me to try enchiladas beans and rice. If this is no good, leave the restaurant. I stand by that and standby this restaurant being really good.

I hope my neighbors on Whidbey Island see this posting as many of them are from Texas and I’m sure I have a hankering for good Mexican food.

Give it a try.

The service was amazing, we got our food super quick and it was SUPER good. The menu was quite long and a little hard to look through, and the ads on the tables definitely take away some atmosphere. But it’s still a vary good place for Mexican food.

We were really encouraged by the great reviews and decided to order via DoorDash for a date night in. We ordered flautas, nachos and a chile relleno. What we received was bland, oily and lacking any kind of presentation. Don’t get me wrong – I love a hot plate of cheesy goodness, but for the price, I would have loved to see some kind of vegetable or garnish. My husband commented that the flautas reminded him of the Delimex taquitos we make in our air fryer. We won’t be ordering this again – my hope is that they do a better job in person!

Edit: It’s been a year since my initial review and I wanted to add a star and an update – we have since ordered food a few more times for delivery and have had a wonderful experience.

The best Mexican food in Skagit Valley. The food is always amazing, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is relaxing! The owners Adolph and Angela will check on diners to make sure everything is as expected. Great customer skills!

Overly loud and an extremely long wait for our food for some reason. Ordered a chicken topped salad, chicken quesadilla, and a beef enchilada. The beef enchilada was fairly good. I was surprised to only get 1 for the price. Big menu many items on it for dinner were $20 & up it seemed. Some were around $15 & occasionally there is food for a little less. But all the really good stuff is spendy (to me). The chips and salsa were really good.

Our family favorite. We’ve been coming here since they opened over 4 decades ago. Same amazing quality it was back then. We make sure to stop in any time we are in the area.
