Posole soup is their special, it seems during cooler months. The chile based broth was perfectly seasoned, comforting, with a mild heat. They give a generous serving with lots of shredded pork and hominy. Chopped fresh onions, lime, shredded cabbage, dried chile & oregano are provided for topping. I threw everything in and was pleased by the tangy, crunchy savory mix. Served with your choice of hot corn or flour tortillas. Try it!

Service was great, and inside had a good amount of seating. I got the green chile burrito, which was truly spicy as it says on the menu. My only complaint is that the beans were SCALDING. I wanted to eat the burrito right away, and I understand food is hot, but they were the watery kind of beans that spill out of the burrito and become super messy. If I ever go back, I’m not getting the burrito. That’s not because it’s not good, but because it’s messy and literally as hot as water that’s almost boiling.

This Monterey Park institution is famous for their spicy Green Chile Burritos. I got their #8 Burrito plate and it was fantastic. The burrito had some serious heat and the rice & beans tasted fresh and homemade. There are a few tables outside to eat next to the small parking lot. Definitely will be back.

The service is fantastic the people here are super friendly. This is probably the best Mexican food in all of Monterey Park. If you’re in the area this place is delicious try it out

Excellent! We have eaten here since we started dating. We’ve brought our kids here and our grandkids. Still one of the best places to eat Mexican food! :::UPDATE::: Back again, still excellent and still Caliente!! Great green chili burrito, and it still can make you sweat!! The good stuff!

Cash only but other than that good authentic food and friendly service. Really enjoyed everything burrito,.tacos and sopes. Enchilada sauce not my favorite but was decent.
