We used to enjoy the food and service here. But the last 3x over the last couple of years, were not good. We want them to fix the issues and make it. The server on a week night was not good and there were 4 tables only. It was dead in there, she didn’t ask for refills, or more chips, didn’t grab our empty’s, the food portions have gotten ridiculously smaller, the kids menu is a joke, they don’t play any music or have any TVs at all, beans were dry and had hard outer layer like they been sitting out all day, meat was dry, they charge for kids refills.
They need bigger portions.
They need better service for sure.
Better food quality and not canned foods.
Add music and maybe a TV or two.
Also add more drink options, who doesn’t serve Bush light around here.
They definitely could use a deep cleaning all around.
Hopefully they make improvements so we will want to return.

I give 3 stars for the flavor of the food. I ordered the nachos supreme and they needed more beef I had more cheese and veggies than meat for the price and a little more flavor/seasoning to the meat (beef).
I give 5 stars because the customer service was EXCELLENT!! I didn’t dine in but it’s beautiful and calming in there while I waited for my food.
This is The best of 3 places I’ve tried here so far.
I’m from Chicago so I’m spoiled with good flavored food and authentic Mexican food .
I will return again and dine in next time!

Tried to order online, but there was no option to select certain meals and nowhere to put in payment. Called in, and the lady was very friendly and prompt. Got my food home, and it was still hot, good portions, for the most part tasty. The red sauce had a little kick, which I liked, but it overpowered the flavors of my meal. Overall, it was good and it’s improved from years past. I’ll give it another try again.

I went to this restaurant for nostalgia of my years as a teen in Grand Forks ND. Overall I had a good experience. I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door and seated. It was around 3pm on a Saturday.
You are provided chips and salsa. Which they have done for many years. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Surprisingly, it still looked very much the same from my teen years. I ordered the beef burrito with chili con queso. It was basic but it was hot and fresh.
The service was very good. The waitress was very attentive and made sure I had beverages filled and provided chips and salsa as needed.

Stopped in today for a late lunch.
The staff was friendly, just a few tables filled with people, so our waitress was prompt in taking care of us.
There are no lids for the kid cups, so I suggest bringing your own if you have little ones.
Food came out hot and looking good. Portions were sized well.
I finished my meal and was satisfied. However, it wasn’t awesome. Average tasting ~ is not high on my can’t wait to return list.

One of the good places for affordable Mexican & little to no wait. Not entirely sure it’s authentic but it’s still good! We just went there & they have a new fall menu that you really should try. (Hopefully they move the two things we had to the regular menu). We had the guac as an app and it wasn’t quite what we were expecting but it was okay. Really creamy (no chunks like you expect) and could have used a touch more salt and/or lime.
We had the Mexican Jambalaya, flavors were awesome, rice was a tad dry for our taste but it was made with Spanish rice, but the fried shrimp…just give me a plate of those & I’d be happy. They were terrific! We also had the Mexican Street Corn Po’Boy and that was fenominal!! A chipolte tartar, spicy coleslaw, corn salsa, & the same perfectly fried shrimp…I was in heaven!
We love the friendly staff that always greets us with a smile & we will always continue to come back.

Honestly I should have gone to Taco bell. I don’t know how these people keep their doors open. All I ordered was tacos. The beef was dry, there was some kind of imitation cheese sauce they put on top of it. There was very few other toppings on the tacos like one strand of lettuce. The salsa was nothing but crushed tomatoes there was no spice no jalapeno at all in it. I’m convinced it was just a simple can of crushed tomatoes. That’s not salsa! This was definitely a mistake eating there. There was nothing authentic about it except the atmosphere. I tried to force down the tacos but I can only eat most of two I could need a third one it was a waste. I wanted to add a couple of pictures of my meal, but there’s no place I can add that on here I guess.

Nice place and has a friendly atmosphere; however, the food needs more character and improvements in flavors and originality. Most of the food and salsa taste straight from a can. **Bring Cash, or you will be charged 3.5% for using any card.

I have to completely honest, Mexican Village isn’t my favorite place to go for Mexican food in Grand Forks. My visit on this day was a very good experience. The main reason for that was the dessert. It was amazing! It was an apple pie type deal with their cinnamon ice cream. It was heavenly! I totally recommend this dessert!!
