I had some grilled chicken quesadillas from Mexicali Cantina Grill and the food was Fresh, cheesy, perfectly seasoned — every bite was a vibe i would recommended this place to friends and family. i was staying close by and wanted a quick bite and the service was fast and atmosphere was great. The pricing was ok not expensive..affordable

Went for the second time food was amazing. Fast service, every dish I’ve had has been delicious. Veggies on this dish were absolutely incredible. Really great food, very clean, comfortable, good decorations.

Been driving past Mexicali Grill for about 4 years now and finally tried it last week and i wish i had gone sooner!
This place is so good that i had a working lunch there on Monday and brought the wife in for dinner Friday!
Lunch – Home made chips and salsa, amazing. Mini Chimi’s are a must, insanely good and addictive almost a fight for the last one……Barbacoa burrito was delicious, tender meat and rice with beans wrapped in a delicious over sized tortilla smothered in a cheesy salsa sauce garnished with incredibly fresh salad.
The 3 enchilada’s my friend got disappeared in no time so i’m guessing they were as good as my burrito. Enchiladas were served with rice and refried beans which looked very tasty.
Dinner – home made chips and salsa brought out right away, very fresh salsa and warm chips, wonderful.
Smoky margarita was very well made and garnished beautifully, nice to see they have Tecate beer too.
The mini chimi app i had at lunch was so good i went for the full dinner version, delicious chicken chimi topped with a wonderful sauce served with rice and beans which were some of the best i’ve had, even better than Javier’s in Dallas!
Wife had the chicken fajitas, i tried these too and they blow every sizzling fajita we’ve ever tried away, delicious marinated chicken served on a sizzling platter with the freshest onions and peppers that were literally popping with flavor, served with warm tortillas and condiments orf sour cream, guacamole and cheese, superbly done.
Service was outstanding, the place was spotless, the food was ridiculously good, all in all Mexicali is worthy of this 5 star review.
If the manager or owners see this review, please don’t change anything, incredibly fresh and tasty food with great staff is almost like a unicorn these days, you will be seeing us on a regular basis, this has become our new date night location and all my future business lunch’s!

From the moment that I walked into this place until I left, I was welcomed in and greeted with such kindness and smiles. The music and the vibe of this place was so great that even while waiting for food, it didn’t even take that long in between. So pristine and clean and overall management has everything run top-tier with service and communication. Drinks from the bar was phenomenal and perfect pairing for what I ordered for dinner. Food is delicious and so fresh. Accommodating to even switch up a few things on the menu but overall it is exceptional. From the chips and salsa, to the chicken tortilla soup and their ceviche and then of course, sharing fajitas for two. It was incredible. I cannot even express it more that if you haven’t been here then you need to come here to this place. Prices as well are fair pretty good and not overly expensive. I couldn’t even make it do dessert because portions were great, but next time I will be sure to make room. I truly enjoyed my time here and I cannot wait to come back!!!

However, as someone who frequently enjoys Mexican cuisine, I’ve always believed that salsa is the real first taste test of any good Mexican spot.
Unfortunately, the salsa here didn’t quite meet expectations!
it lacked the punch and freshness we were hoping for.
We ordered the Combo Mexicali which included chicken, mushrooms, and shrimp a dish that sounded delicious on the menu. Things took an odd turn when the server asked how we’d like our chicken cooked — well-done, medium, or undercooked. That question left us a bit confused, as undercooked chicken isn’t just unappetizing, it’s unsafe. I’ve never heard of being given that option in any restaurant, and it felt like a pretty strange oversight.
Overall, while the ambiance was great and the concept of the combo was solid, the experience was slightly marred by the strange cooking question and the underwhelming salsa. There’s definitely potential here, but a few things need fine-tuning to match the vibe with the food quality and service awareness.

Here is my true and honest opinion of the place. When we first tried them out, I was not a fan of the place. I didn’t have a good experience. My food was very mid and I guess, I just expected more but boyfriend insisted that we go here to have dinner again another time. I have now became a fan of this place! The staff here are great and the food for a local Mexican restaurant is actually pretty good. It has now became our go to spot when we’re in the area!!

Wow wow wow first time here and food was amazing if you go try the tres amigo a lot of food. I didnt make it to dessert so can’t comment on that. The whole restaurant is clean and beautiful even the bathroom was super clean smelled good, the music was cool to not loud just enough to jam to. Waiters was cool soda not on menu but they have soda just have to ask. Lots of parking outside, took my wife there for anniversary and she had a blast so go there on your next date you won’t regret it trust me

This was our first time here. We had a best friend night and went here and the movies across the street. This place is in a great location. Next to a hotel and movie theater, but the parking lot is small in the back. This is a nice place to eat. The inside is so pretty and colorful. The food, drinks, and service were amazing. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The food came out quickly. We hardly had time to eat our appetizer, but that’s a good thing. At the time we went, it wasn’t busy so that may be the reason for the quick service, but our visit was great. Did I mention our server was AMAZING!?
