Mexcito seems to be a hotspot for locals and young professionals in Cambridge. We stayed at a nearby hotel, and honestly, just chose Mexcito because it wasn’t overly crowded. It was an okay experience overall.
The food was good, even though there was a hair in my tacos. The customer service was decent, as well. But overall, it was just “meh.” Nothing wowed us, but if I were working in the area, I’d get my fix here with tacos since it’s walking distance.
But as a tourist, I’d hop on the T and go downtown for a better, and more memorable, taco option.

Decent Mexican place in Kendall Square.
Mexcito has always piqued my curiosity, but its food-truck-like aesthetic and negative reviews had kept me at bay. Finally giving it a try, I was pleasantly surprised to find that their food was better than I expected.
I started with the Pollo Asado taco, featuring marinated grilled chicken thigh accented by Cotija chipotle mayo, pico de gallo, and shaved lettuce. While a bit on the pricier side for a taco, the quality of the ingredients and flavors somewhat justified the cost.
The Carne Asada Bowl was a mixed bag. Despite its rather dry carne asada, the bowl was replete with a variety of fresh and vibrant components—Mexican red rice, black beans, pickled red cabbage, avocado aioli, and charred corn, among others. It tasted like something you’d find in a salad bar, but with a Mexican twist.
Overall, while Mexcito may not offer the most authentic or awe-inspiring Mexican cuisine, it’s a serviceable choice for a quick, satisfying, and relatively healthy meal.

I have tried the burrito and the nachos. The latter being my favorite. These nachos are so well put together and delicious. The nachos Stayed crunchy and the meat tasted super fresh. Looking forward to trying this again. Try the carne asada nachos for sure. The burrito left a little to be desired for me as I like a lot of toppings and sour cream. Super fresh good food here though guys.

Attendant told us that parking would be Validated and cost $6. When we returned the new attendant was adamant that was not true and forced us to pay the full amount of $22. He was so incompetent that he had lost our original ticket during the discussion with him and the equally unhelpful manager. To top it off we saw this sign when we left for all-day parking for $15 that they could proposed as an option!?

The scumiest garage there is. The sign clearly states Saturday and Sunday (out by 6am) $12. Says nothing about entering before 6am, but because I entered before 6am on Saturday, I got charged $22. The cashier said if you enter before 6am you pay the night rate and Saturday rate. Is it legal to state a price, then charge a different price without written proof? It is funny to me that they chose 6am, when that is the time most construction workers are parking before. They discriminate against construction workers so badly. I once asked for a monthly pass and the gentleman said they didn’t have any left. When I went to pay there were three people getting passes, all in suits. I will never park here again.

Ate at their pop-up near Sloan. Seriously delicious lamb tacos – best I’ve had in the area. The lamb was well-seasoned and cooked, and the vegetable toppings, very fresh. On sunny, non-windy days, would recommend the outdoor seating – fun music and nice vibes.

Supposedly they give you 15 minutes to get out after paying your ticket, but they timed us out in the time it took to walk to our car one level down. Then it took 10 minutes to “help us” so the time on our receipt showed 15 minutes past. Naturally, they made us pay twice.
