Our group went on a local food tour of Northampton and visited this location on one of our stops. It was wonderful. The tacos were excellent! I had a terrific Margarita. Our server was so patient and provided excellent service. A must stop for any visit to Northampton. Hope to be back again!

I was lucky enough to randomly visit this place and enjoy the food and atmosphere. They had decent tacos, pretty authentic. I really like their fresh guac, and their carnitas and birria are really tasty.
One thing I would recommend is to make the margaritas with a bit more alcohol. It was more like juice when I tried. Other than that, highly recommend.

Well what can I say I ran across an ad on Facebook and said to my friend let’s try it. When we came in to the restaurant they were very welcoming very informative and answered all my questions and concerns that I had having allergies. We started with the fry quesadilla with pork and let me tell you it was delicious once you bite into that pork and that melty cheese inside it’s just heavenly. We continue to order a lunch special which included five tacos of your choice rice and beans and let me tell you that I was not disappointed I think my favorite one was cochinita pibil. Those pickled onions were delish. we also had street elote and that was fantastic we had a margarita made with Mezcal. It had a smoky flavor to it but it complemented the rest something that I do recommend. and we finish our day with churros that came with caramel and chocolate sauce. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food I definitely recommend. Also they have live music and salsa dancing

Great tacos and amazing cocktails. Their selection of rare mezcals and tequilas is off the hook. We were in town dropping our daughter off at camp and were in the mood for Mexican. After surveying the options we chose Mexcalito as it sounded authentic. We love Mexican food and beverages, and know tequila and mezcal drinks pretty well from travel and frequenting some of the better Mexican restaurants in New York and Boston. All I can say is that this place is completely legit and up there in terms of the quality of the food and drinks. Antonio the owner is from Guadalajara Jalisco the birthplace of tequila. Antonio made us several cocktails off the menu including a mezcal hibiscus concoction that was sublime. The tacos were varied and unique with soft corn homemade tortillas. And the price was reasonable for the meal we had.

This place is fantastic for date night! The tacos are delicious and their house margarita is one of the best ones I’ve tasted in a while. The portions are generous, too. I ordered the three taco platter and was felt full afterwards. I’m so glad this place is here!
Updating with some photos of the Campechano tacos. Mexcalito is still one of my favorite places around Amherst!

We tried a number of the different tacos offered at Mexcalito: carnitas, the fluffy taco, carne asada, pastor, and portobello. The favorites were the pastor and carne asada; the others were okay but less flavorful. The wait for our food was a bit long, but the service was friendly and welcoming.

This spot is one of my favorites in town. I come to Amherst every 2 months and always visit, I love their tacos (a taco with soft tortilla is the best thing ever), their margaritas because they make them fresh and the desserts are delicious. This place reminds me of my trip to Mexico.

Friendly and exceptional service. Drinks and appetizers were the tip of the ice berg. My meal was beyond words. My fiancé and I had postponed conversations until 1 tacos was gone form both plates. Do yourself a favor one day or everyday and
treat yourself. Outdoor seating on a nice day

Ok, so I was really hyped about this place . On their website they advertise “AUTHENTIC” mexican cousine. Here’s my opinion. It is not mexican food. It looks mexican and you can argue it tastes good. But is Not authentic at all. That’s where the 1 star food review comes from. I ordered guac and chips, they did not have chips. I ordered queso fundido but it was hard by the time it came to us, they brought chips with this one but they were not corn chips and they were oily. I ordered birria tacos, they were salty and they did not come with birria consome. I ordered al pastor they were good but did not taste al pastor. The tortillas were straight up white corn commercial Tortillas, not home made, if you wanted an extra Tortilla it was almost 2 dollars for a single Tortillas that was not even home made. They only had 1 waiter for the whole restaurant, he was overworked and couldn’t keep up with customers. The drinks were inconsistent in flavor. I ordered around 730 my food came around 9 i felt rushed because the close the kitchen at 930 for salsa night. It was overall not a great experience. The waiter did a good job with what he could. This is an honest review. Food is fine but please don’t say authentic.

Incredibly great food! I used to go to a lot of really authentic Mexican restaurants in Spain and this one right here in Amherst is definitely among the ones I would recommend! The food is so tasty and rich and the prices are absolutely fine. I would recommend sitting outside in the back of the restaurant on a nice sunny day. The staff is very friendly as well!
