Metropolitan Cafe & Bagels… oh my goodness where do I even begin. If you love BAD FOOD DO NOT COME HERE. I drove all the way from Dumfries VA (6.5hr drive mind you) just for this place because it’s that good. You’ll never understand how blissful it is to bite into such a soft sweet succulent new Bergen bagel — it reminded me when my mother would hold me closely when I was a child, the warmth of the soft pillowy bagel and the egg & cheese sitting across my taste buds while the seeds from the everything bagel perform a symphony in my mouth akin to Mozart. Truly a divine experience, they probably had this at the last supper.
And that coffee… my oh my… and I’m a snob, let me tell you. If anyone knows anything about coffee it’s — yeah, the guy with two thumbs and you’re looking right at him baby. This is the best bean that money can buy and they pour their heart and souls into this one. I looked back at the kitchen and they had a huge bin called “love” and you can obviously tell it’s their main ingredient.
I highly HIGHLY recommend this place if you’re alive and need to eat to live.

Disappointed. Both breakfast sandwiches were super bland, and the coffee cake must have been 3 weeks old. Just very very surprised based off the good reviews. Go somewhere else.

This is our favorite place in our town. We come here every morning for breakfast, on our way to work or school and they’re even open on Sundays. The staff is very personable and welcoming. Their food is phenomenal. It’s honestly the perfect place.

This is one of the best bagel and breakfast place i’ve ever been too. The food is amazing, the service is beyond me and the atmosphere is just amazing for a breakfast spot. 100% recommend.

Metro is a staple in Fairview. Although it’s changed owners over the years it’s one of those reliable spots that you can go for a great beagle egg and cheese sandwich. The food quality is always fresh and the service is friendly and quick and convenience. The only downfall to Metro that I’m finding lately is the inconsistency in pricing. It’s a bit bloated for what you get. I’d hate to say that their pricing out customers but to some extent they are. However it still means a local spot where you will bump into people from town and they have a seating area where you’ll see regulars at having conversations all the time and it’s a little nostalgic in that way. I’d recommend going there for quick breakfast or lunch.

I recently moved to the area from Manhattan and had been disappointed with the local Bagel spots. Happy to say, I finally found my new favorite spot. I ordered the everything bagel with lox, etc. It was so good that I forgot to take a photo prior to eating it. The restaurant makes the Bagels too and doesnt order from a third party. I also got the Rocky Balboa sandwich to go for lunch. The bread is perfect and the meats (prosciutto, salami, ham) and mozarella was fresh. Highlight suggest this spot and will be coming here going forward!
