This place is always busy and even more on the weekends, with that being said they still cater to you in a very attentive way and that goes to show alot about metro more specifically this one, I’ve been to numerous other locations but this one in particular always pulls me right back in, if you can be patient enough to wait on a Saturday or Sunday you will be very pleasantly surprised with how fast everything transitions inside, my son has severe sensory problems and even the hustle and bustle of a busy new York night in here doesnt bother him in the slightest, they always have some fresh ideas to choose from or even customize your meal up! Ive been coming to this spot for years, while the may not know me on a first name basis they always treat you like family here, kids are always treated so nice from my experience and others interactions that ive seen while dining here, dont expect a 5 star look, thats not the point of this place, its the heart and soul, the magic they put into not only the food but your soul. I hope this location never changes up, in fact I hope they use this location to train others because everyone that works here is just amazing. Today’s order was a bit different and difficult to choose, as I was very hungry but willing to peck. I ordered the “Waffle Breakfast Sandwich” (which as standard comes in at $11.99+ tax) but again I customized mine, instead I went with a Cinnamon Pecan waffle with bananas added and this whole thing is just perfection! I didnt get a chance to thank the cook who made it but my god! Amazing! It comes normal with “Sausage, egg & cheese, in between two waffle halves, served w/ your choice of side” I kept it the same on the inside just changed the waffles. Now our server today Ms.Lauren she was an absolute delight! She is very attentive, energetic and on top of her game! She was very interactive with my table today and very spot on her service! Watch out though shes goes off in a flash giving that same energy to all of her other customers! People like her are the reason I keep coming back! This is the heart of jacksonville and all her people, in one building. Sharing a love of food and great company!

We ordered via uber and received almost every item wrong or incorrectly made. The hash browns had cheese, which I can’t eat. My husband’s bissell breakfast had random mushrooms in it and my pancake had ONION in the center of it. They just dumped our pancake add-ins on top of our pancakes. I KNOW this would not be served in house. Not sure what was going on with the chef. Maybe his girlfriend just dumped him. Maybe he was a little high and was having a hard time with instructions. Maybe he just hates his job and is over it. Such is life, but don’t take it out on random people and cause them to have wasted their money on a gross/partially inedible dinner. Super disappointed as a frequent customer. The most annoying part of all of this is now I am craving good metro diner (and I hate onion and still taste it from my PANCAKE) I’ll just make sure to never order from this location again. I spent $32 on this order and only received a $8 refund.

Absolutely incredible food! OMG! We went to the original diner. What a nice old fashioned looking place. The vibe there is so relaxing. Sat outside next to the big oak tree. The small street is quiet. If I lived there in the quaint lil city of San Marco I’d eat there every other day. It’s a beautiful neighborhood and clean.
We had the western and meat omelets with crispy hash browns and a 1 lb biscuit at least it felt like it
Excellent waitress! Good cooks and a very affordable price. I’ll be back when I’m up that way again!

Great server…Kylie…be glad to ask for her next time. Really nice and on top of everything. Food was great. I got the BBQ bacon burger. My husband got the loaded burger bowl. You can’t see the burger when you first get it but it was as large as mine. He at the entire thing… NOT usual for him.

Our server DAVID was phenomenal!!!! Best customer experience I have had in a long time. He was personable, He listend to our orders,tried to decipher what we really wanted and knew the menu well to customize my husband’s breakfast meal. He constantly checked in to make sure we were good but not overwhelming to where we didn’t have privacy while we were eating. He made my daughter feel special with her meal. And also has a stage presence like no other and gave us a comedy show with breakfast. David is a huge asset to the Metro family and definitely a true gem .

I went here for a omelette, veggie n triple meat omelette, and as I was eating my omelette, I got halfway done with my omelette to feel stringy hair in my food. I was not please. I notified the waiter and he suggested just taking 1 off. I wasn’t given an apology or anything so beware make sure you use plastic utensils, and make sure you check your food before you eat it. Lesson learnt

This place does not disappoint! The food is delicious and fresh. The service is superb, and the customer service is outstanding! We split a breakfast, and they even separated it onto separate plates for us. Thank you for a fantabulous meal!

The fried chicken is pretty outstanding as well!

Mitch was our server and he did alright. The food was good. We were able to sit immediately. The restroom was fine. The sad point I want to point out is that the restaurant still using ketchup and jelly containing high fructose corn syrup. Yuk! Please get rid of that stuff!

I went to this location on my birthday. I had the Chicken & Waffles with strawberry butter and it was amazing. The waitress told the staff to make my fried chicken fresh because it was my birthday she was so nice I gave her a slice of my birthday cake. Thank you Metro Diner I’ll be back to visit soon.

Went to Metro diner for our first time since moving to Jax, it was amazing. Our server David was great. He was very attentive. Our food was out quickly and it was freshly cooked and hot. We loved it here my husband had the fried chicken Benedict’s with the gravy like David recommended and it was the best egg Benedict’s we’ve ever had. The chicken was tender and juicy just amazingly good. I got a meat lovers omelet and it was also one of the best omelets i’ve had. Will definitely be coming back. The sunset mimosa was also really good. Thank you David for a first good impression at Metro diner.
