This was our first time at Metro Diner in Wilmington, and we were genuinely impressed. It was recommended by our daughter, and she absolutely steered us right.
We went on Valentine’s Day, and even though the restaurant was busy, the service never skipped a beat. Our waiter, Matt, was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without making us feel rushed. He really helped make the experience enjoyable.
The food was excellent. The chicken and waffles were phenomenal, and the breakfast platter with three eggs, home fries, and cheesy grits was just as delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
Great food, great service, and a great overall experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Sat at the counter and watched food being cooked. The staff were enjoying themselves as they were moving the food out for the customers. Great atmosphere. I live in Boston. Would love to have a Metro Diner near my home. Server was Shannon. Excellent service.

We were immediately greeted when we came in the door. Friendly staff and excellent service. Randy answered our questions, made suggestions and took our order. And they kept the coffee coming! Eggs were scrambled as requested. The biscuit – light and fluffy. Pancake flavor of the day – lemon, blueberry. The perfect pancake with the perfect blend of flavor. The manager, J.R stopped by our table to. He’s running a great restaurant!

This is my second time coming to Metro Diner on Concord Pike, and just like the first excellent service and food. The staff is so friendly, restaurant and bathroom clean. I had the chicken and waffles and I’m absolutely sure someone’s grandma is back there frying this chicken lol. I highly recommend this location and ask for Zayan, he was our waiter and was great!!!

I had an amazing experience at Metro Diner! The food was delicious, but what truly made our visit special was our server, Randy. He was incredibly kind, personable, and attentive—constantly checking on us and making sure we were enjoying both our food and our overall experience. His positive attitude and genuine care really stood out. I would absolutely come back just to eat here again and would definitely request Randy personally. Outstanding service all around!
