Not worth the hype. I came in one Saturday morning with my 11 yr old son and ordered half a dozen donuts. It was ok. Good enough to finish, not good enough to come back.
The building is old. The inside was darker than expected (not pitch black but still) and the air was stale. Warmer than I feel it should be for food safety. I wanted to turn around and leave but my son was looking forward to the donuts, and I wanted to support local, so I stayed. The area where the food was displayed was dimly lit and there was a massive open area behind us where someone was watching a tv in the room with toys all around. Like when you’re not busy instead of hanging out in the back, the workers hang out up front? The whole place just felt dark, stale, dirty, and unwelcoming.
I’d go back if they improved the inside and lowered the price of things. A place that handles food should not be warm and dark.

This place stands the test of time. Many generations have put their love into the Donuts they present. Beautiful little works of art! The chocolate frosting is so sweet and rich. With one bit of their Donuts you can taste the cake consistency so good. Next time lm here l look forward to trying all the other choices next time lm in Lakecity…..

The service was fabulous as always, and the regular donuts were as delicious as expected! I’m a big fan.
I really wanted to post this privately because I really like this place and I suspect there are new employees in training.
I don’t live in the area so am present once a year… but had opportunity to be in the area and took a companion with me. Every thing was great as usual except the “ filled donuts “.
They weren’t “filled”, they were “injected “. And, I was told, the crème filling “would have been better if Jello pudding had been used” because it “clearly came out of an industrial can”.
I’ll be back, but really thought you guys might need to know this.

This little gem is located next to rita’s steakhouse and they have a drive through, which is a first for me. Due to the fact it’s not a chain restaurant, I love that option. This was my first time here and I wanted to get a variety of donuts to try and share with my family. It was clean when I went inside and I was greeted almost instantly. I didn’t catch the name of the lovely lady that assisted me with my order, but she had great patience while I decided on my order. She was friendly and professional. The donut I tried was the strawberry cream cheese and it was delicious. I was worried it would be overly sweet like dunkin, but no it was definitely a perfect combination of dough and sweetness!! That is a true sign of homemade goodness. Definitely will come back and let everyone it’s worth the drive.

Excellent all around. Been in lake City for a little over 3 years and never had their donuts. But heard good things. I was really impressed by the price and quality

Visited for the first time and ordered cinnamon twists and chocolate glazed donuts. Twists were pretty good but the glazed that I bought for my kids…terrible. My 4 kids LOVE donuts and none of them wanted to finish theirs. They expressed that while the donut itself was good, the chocolate tasted old and strange.

Walked in and immediately noted a Marijuana smell, or mold.
Apple fritter was mostly dough, no apple flavor, stale, about a day old. It was so bad, I threw half of it away.
Chocolate covered donut was also stale, and the chocolate sauce tasted sour.
Felt nauseous for several hours after eating the pastries.

The donuts are delicious and as well as service was awesome. It’s a little pricy for half a dozen but worthy of it.
