Excellent food! Friendly staff and owners! Free parking lot, and handicap spaces too! What a great place. Inside a historical building with a museum, and old textile wheel. Plenty of space and seating with high ceilings. The food is authentic latin food made with care and love. We had burritos, tacos, queso dip with homemade chorizo and amazing tres leches! Everything was well seasoned and tasty. Sauces were great. Just a nice experience. We came into Lowell to see Riverdance at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, and this place was right down the road and within walking distance. So glad we found this place! Highly recommend!

Soooooooo good, can’t wait to eat our way through this menu. I’m new to pupusas.. we got 2 diff ones (one with pulled pork Revuelta) and A short rib (Birria), hubby’s shrimp quesadilla outstanding but mine was phenomenal… A special with shrimp, yucca and gnocchi… It was outstanding flavors with coconut milk. Dessert tres leches cake was sooooo delicious. Can’t wait to come back. Super super fresh ingredients and staff was over the top even if a big crowd tonight. Owner was so pleasant, telling us how she met her husband working together in a restaurant but dreamed of owning their own. Family in the kitchen… Our kind of place to support!!

I was in the Lowell area & recently found out about Mestiza Latin Kitchen. After reading their story & seeing that they opened just about two months ago, I knew I had to go support this business. I was immediately greeted by Luisa & her husband, Chef Mario.

Looking over the menu, I wanted to order everything but had to narrow it down. I started with the revuelta & birria pupusas, which are made fresh every day—you should have seen the cheese pull! Next, I had the chicken taco on a freshly pressed handmade tortilla.

The star of the show was the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. The tortillas were incredibly fresh, stuffed with slow-braised beef ribs. There was a hint of sweetness that made me fall in love, especially when paired with their homemade hot sauce.

I finished with the tastiest tres leches cake. I wish Luisa & Chef Mario all the success in the world. If you’re in Lowell, please stop in & support them you won’t be disappointed. They don’t serve alcohol, but it’s BYOB!

Randomly ended up here for dinner when searching for high rated local spots. You order at the counter and the server brought the food out when ready. We ordered the queso with chorizo which my husband (who usually isn’t a fan of) leaned over and said “this is fire” . Ok, good start! Pususa with pork and cheese for me was delicious. Husband’s chicken enchilada were also very good. Service was polite and fast. The location is kind of odd being in the lower level of a condo building? But don’t let it deter you! No alcohol but lots of yummy Jarritos flavors. Lived up to the rating!

Food was delicious even though it was a 20 minute drive back home! Everything seemed fresh and tasty. I usually don’t like tres leches cake but this one was actually enjoyable. My go to lately is the Tacos Gobernator and this establishment did not disappoint! Rice was a bit salty but had flavor. Elote loco was ok. I like it creamer and this was drier than most places I’ve had this appetizer from. Churros were good but I ate them 3 or 4 hours later cold and if they’re good cold then I’m sure they’re yummy when fresh!
Would definitely come back just for the Taco Gobernator dish!

I wanted to gatekeep this restaurant all to myself but they deserve to be known. I am very picky when it comes to tacos and I will make my own street tacos or just suffer in silence . This place makes their own corn tortillas and is very reasonably priced. We went the other day and we were shocked at the total we payed. In this economy, it was cheap! They also have their own homemade hot sauce and they were . We got chips and guac, chips and queso + chorizo, birria tacos, steak tacos, chicken tacos and al pastor (pork) tacos. Between the chicken and pork, I couldn’t decide which one I like better. Both were equally flavorful and not dry. Even our 6 year old gave it 2 thumbs up!

My husband and I stopped by for lunch last Saturday, and we were blown away. We started with a stuffed arepa, bursting with fresh, homemade ingredients and bold flavors that left us speechless. The arepa’s texture and taste were nothing short of perfection. Next, we tried the birria tacos—three glorious handmade tortillas packed with generous portions of tender, flavorful meat. These tacos were a revelation, easily the best we’ve ever had.
We couldn’t resist ordering takeout for our family: two pupusas and two chicken burrito bowls. The pupusas were delightful, and the burrito bowls were loaded with perfectly seasoned chicken, fresh fixings, and a homemade tortilla that elevated every bite. The attention to detail, from the top-notch ingredients to the house-made salsas, was impeccable and tied every dish together beautifully.
The staff was incredibly friendly, and the owner’s warmth made the experience even more memorable. Mestiza Latin Restaurant is a true culinary treasure—fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Don’t miss out on this Lowell gem!

Service was very friendly. Food was amazing. I live in AZ so know good Mexican food. This is Latin American but very similar. I had the Al pastor taco and the birria pupusa. Soo delicious. Sauces were so good it really took the taste to the next level. Dining area is very cute. A little deserted on Halloween night but festive music and a cool vibe.

I love eating here and look forward to their weekly special. They are so friendly and make it feel very homey as if I have been coming here for years. I’m from East Boston and since I moved to Lowell – I been missing salvy food and I’m glad this place opened in Lowell! Reminds me of home.
