The ambiance is on point with Mexican music and decor. We were seated right away and served chips and salsa; the house salsa was better than most with a slight kick.
The elote was perfect and the veg stuffed poblano unique. Would have liked to see a few additional vegetarian items on the menu but what we got was very good.
Our server was prompt and pleasant. Thought about getting desert but didn’t save room for it this time!

We decided to swing by and try some place new and was pleasantly surprised.
The decor appears to hand painted and open. There is a bar, not sure of its full service, but they do have beer on tap.
I ordered the nachos supreme with shredded beef and it was delicious. The shredded beef was extremely flavorful and tender. The queso was tasty. This was a very filling dish.
My wife ordered the tacos with regular ground beef and they were ok. Nothing to write home about, but they were stuffed with ground beef and the lettuce and cheese was served in the side.
For desert, we tried the churros and flan. The churros are something that everyone should try. They are served warm with a cruncy exterior and soft interior….served covered with chocolate sauce.
The flan was made with cinnamon and had a good custard feel. The sauce was good.

It’s unfortunate as this used to be our go to Mexican cuisine when we visit blue ridge. Today the drinks we ordered, margaritas, were watered down to where it was noticeable from the first sip. I exchanged it for a beer as instead

Great service and good food. Stopped in for a late lunch after doing the Freedom Rail Bikes… Friday afternoon. There was one other party in the restaurant… and our service was top notch. Didn’t ask for anything. The waiter, was absolutely the best. Food was good, kids ate up everything, outside of a taco my daughter just couldn’t finish. Will be stopping again during our stay in the area.

Very interesting place. The server was nice, but that’s about it. Rice was flavorless and dry, and the refried beans were inedible. Also an overwhelming thyme flavor in the shredded beef. I thought I was eating pot roast, which is not the flavor I’m looking for when going to a Mexican restaurant.

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. I would say it is has more of an American flare to it. Very nice setting and atmosphere. Easy to get to being right on 515. The food is good just different from your typical Mexican foods. They do run specials on Tuesday for tacos and margaritas.

Have nothing but great things to say about Mesquite Grill. When we walked in with a party of six and one needed a high chair, the table was already ready. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, food was awesome and timely. Kids loved their food which is sometimes a challenge. Fajitas were great and the tortillas and fixings that came with it. If you are in Blue Ridge looking for Mexican food, this is the place! I would have more photos but the food was great and we didn’t think to take more.
