The back patio was very pleasant but the food was subpar and the service was terrible. The server dropped off our food and literally never came back once even though there was only one other table in the entire restaurant. Not even to ask us if we needed anything or if the food was okay. Finally we just grabbed our own leftovers and walked back inside to get a bag for our food and the bill and she was on FaceTime with someone and said “hold on I’ll brb,” to whomever she was talking to and cashed us out. The food looks nothing like the plates they advertise. We definitely would not recommend.

We went for lunch, and the place was not crowded at all – maybe only 2 other customers. The back patio is a nice space. But we had to wait maybe 45 minutes for our food – even our drinks did not come for 30+ minutes, and the server did not tell us that the soups we ordered weren’t even available until we asked where all the food was. While the food was tasty, and I suspect the restaurant was handling online orders, the lack of (proactive) communication about our order was really frustrating and significantly delayed our schedule for the day.

Great place! It was my first time having Ethiopian food, and Meskie’s didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed a big family plate. I liked the Chicken tibs and string beans. The Ethiopian wine was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive, and lit the fireplace for us. I’ll definitely come back.

The food was decent but the server gave me a glass of water which had lipstick marks on it at the rim and had clearly been used by someone. The restaurant only had 2 tables occupied, and with less work, the server was sitting at her desk with earphones on, so clearly this wasn’t a mistake because she had too much to handle, but it was pure carelessness.
I had to walk to the back of the restaurant and ask for a new glass because the server didn’t come even once to check on us after we had been served.

Yes I have to admit this place is really good. We had the family style 2 appetizer, 4 main course dinner. Ordered two of them, one veggie the other meat. Look up there deal on Groupon it makes sense. The food was just great. We have eaten Ethiopian food all over the US the food was a 4 out of 5. The service is good when you are the only one in restaurant. There’s only one server, for a restaurant this size there needs to be two even on slow days. If food was mediocre I would have had to give them 3 stars. Look them up on Groupon this makes the price well worth it.

The service was very nice. The atmosphere was unfortunately affected by a very loud client, hopefully will not be there the next time we go.The server even gave me some roasted milled flax and instructions on how to make her delicious smoothie at home, explaining the significance of the drink back home.

the food was so good!!! we got 10 different options through getting 2 of the vegetarian combo things and everything was good. the patio outside is also lovely, though i wish there was music playing. also it was a great value! about $13 per person for more food than we could finish.

Update: Apr 2022 – came back after a long time post pandemic. They have remodeled it and looks refreshing. Looks like they don’t offer Groupon. They also added a new patio section. Food is yummy as always. Highly recommend this spot.
