When I say this food is good, I mean the steak frites and the sea bass made this yapper shut up. I cannot say enough about the flavors I experienced. Robust, umami, delicate, married, buttery, fresh, crisp, summery. From the drinks to the ricotta with honeycomb and orange marmalade, it was just divine. My server, Anthony, listened when I didn’t think he was even there and anticipated what I wanted when I wanted it. He made enjoying the food and the atmosphere effortless. I cannot wait to bring more people I love to share a meal with here. I highly recommend the espresso martini while you enjoy dessert- the hazelnut is a touch that sets it apart.

Mercat Bistro has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Dallas. We’ve been here multiple times, and every visit is consistently fantastic. The food is outstanding—especially the Eggs Benedict for brunch, which are perfectly prepared every time, and the French Dip sandwich, which is honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere is charming and authentically French, whether you sit inside or enjoy the beautiful outdoor patio. We’ve brought friends and family on several occasions, and everyone always leaves impressed. Came here for brunch with some friends! The pastry basket was amazing! The charcuterie board was whatever. My French onion soup was very good. The quiche Lorraine while huge was kind of mediocre. My avocado toast was probably the best version I’ve had to date the egg was perfect.

From the moment we came upon the breezeway…my wife, daughter, and I were given the VIP treatment even though we didn’t have so much as a reservation. Donna greeted us and not only found us a table during the Sunday brunch rush but even went as far as to ensure our three year old’s food was being prepared by the chef himself (since there aren’t specific kid options they went off menu for her!)
Our server Don was impeccably hospitable and professional giving special attention to our daughter and even being graceful as he cleaned up the cranberry juice she dropped!
If you are looking for a great spot with a true European feeling and palate, wonderful ambiance, and impeccable service…don’t miss out on Mercat Bistro.

We came for brunch and had mixed feelings. The host was very nice and welcoming, and the food tasted okay.
Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Our food took about 35 minutes to arrive. My order tasted off, so I asked for it to be remade, and the replacement took another 15+ minutes. I asked to speak with the manager, she brought the food but didn’t ask what happened or offer an apology.
On top of that, the waiter and had a poor attitude from the start, which made everything feel even more unpleasant. I don’t mind a busy brunch rush, but better communication and attitude would’ve made a big difference.

Mercat Bistro is an absolutely adorable French spot that feels like a sweet escape to Paris. I stopped in for a lunch and was delighted by how quaint the ambiance was — perfect for a slow afternoon or dinner.
I tried the tomato soup, and oh my — it was excellent! Rich, comforting, and clearly made fresh with quality ingredients. For dessert, I indulged in their crème brûlée, which was beautifully torched and silky smooth. Paired with a well-crafted flat white, it was the ideal finish to a delicious little escape.

Mercat Bistro delivers a great breakfast, excellent service, and a very pleasant dining atmosphere. The croissant was delicious-crispy on the outside, buttery, and had the right texture inside. The French breakfast was prepared precisely as I requested. The food quality felt bright as evidenced by the rich, orange color of the egg yolk and the fresh taste of the orange juice. The crispy potato galette and bacon made the meal complete. Our server, George, was friendly and had a warm demeanor, which was a nice contrast to the cold, blustery wind outside. The atmosphere has French bistro vibes as expected. The only challenge is getting your car parked or navigating the one way streets to approach the valet from the correct direction. I definitely recommend Mercat as an alternative option to some of the other French bistro options in Dallas.

We had the most magical date night at Mercat Bistro! Everything we ordered was delicious and when I asked if I could order a French hot chocolate (not on the menu) our incredible waiter Timothy worked with the bartender to make one for me! It was delightful! Service was top notch, we loved Timothy he was so kind and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful- it felt like we were transported to a Parisian cafe during Christmastime! It was perfect.
