Mercantile at Union Station delivers one of the most unforgettable dining experiences in Denver. The food preparation is nothing short of exquisitely stunning—every dish is crafted with incredible attention to detail, bold flavors, and beautiful presentation. You can genuinely taste the passion behind every plate.

The service is equally phenomenal. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely committed to making the experience special. From start to finish, everything feels smooth, welcoming, and expertly handled.

If you’re looking for a place that blends exceptional cuisine with top-tier service, Mercantile is a must. Truly a 5-star experience.

This place is absolutely amazing!! I’m so glad I had a chance to visit while I was in Denver. Our server was fantastic (I wish I could remember her name!), the atmosphere was lovely, and the food… …delicious! It was an experience from the beginning to the end. There were 2 of us and we selected 1 item from each section of the menu to share–Earth, Grain, Sea, Pasture. These items are definitely meant to be shared! It was just enough food for the 2 of us. And the dessert was divine! I would highly recommend this restaurant and would love to go back if I’m ever in Denver again.

Mercantile is exactly the kind of place that turns a simple dinner into a night out. We visited for date night and left already planning our next visit. The menu is on the smaller side, but every dish feels dialed-in and seasonal – true “quality over quantity.” The standout was the Sakura Pork Chop: perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and paired with thoughtful sides. Do not skip the warm bread service with cultured butter, it’s the kind of simple luxury that sets the tone for the meal.

What really made the evening, though, was the team. Everyone we met was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to chat with. You can tell this is a chef-driven restaurant that cares about its ingredients and its guests. A bit of background: Mercantile lives inside the beautifully restored Union Station and blends a restaurant with a European-style market – a nod to its roots in celebrating Colorado producers and seasonal cooking.

Whether you’re planning a cozy date night or grabbing a quick, high quality meal downtown, Mercantile delivers. Bonus: being in Union Station means plenty to explore before or after dinner. Highly recommend.

What we loved: Sakura Pork Chop, bread service + cultured butter, attentive staff, Union Station vibe

Tip: Make a reservation if you’re timing it around trains/events; ask the staff for pairing suggestions…they’re spot on.

Definitely worth the hype! The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious, especially the eggplant and the rabbit ragu, which were our favorites. The carbonara was good, though a bit heavy. I would absolutely go back.

Where do ya start? This place was top notch.
Tried the lunch prefix menu
That comes with a starter and an entree for $35…
Tried the autumn brussels and the broccoli caesar. Both did not miss. Perfect amounts of acidity on the brussels!

Main course did the millers chicken and the kewpie burger.

The dessert… Now that alone is worth coming for by itself. Churro bread pudding.

Insane meal over all, service was amazing as well.

I recently dined at this restaurant and found it to be a fairly average experience. The atmosphere was pleasant enough for a casual outing, with a comfortable and relaxed setting. The food was decent, offering acceptable flavors and presentation, but nothing particularly memorable. The menu had a reasonable variety of options to choose from. The service was polite and timely, meeting basic expectations without standing out. Prices were fair for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, the restaurant provided a satisfactory meal. It’s a suitable spot for a simple visit, though it doesn’t especially distinguish itself.

Mercantile has an attractive space with an enjoyable menu to select from. Everything was prepared well and the service was very good; knowledgeable and genuine. Stand out dishes for us were the beef cheeks, charred cabbage, and octopus. Lots of enjoyment there! Caviar was also tasty. Spiced carrots were a miss for us; dill forward and not actually spicy. 8/10.

Definitely a good spot for a high quality meal. We’ll be back eventually. Also very gluten free friendly.

The Japanese eggplant here might have been the best eggplant I’ve had; there were so many incredible flavors going on in one dish. Really enjoyed at atmosphere and the polenta-stuffed agnolotti. Highly recommend!

The wife and I were celebrating 21st wedding anniversary. We sat at the counter and had 4 courses served by the manager. The GM popped by to say hi as well. I was very impressed, black cod was incredible, gnocchi fluffy as a cloud. We did order the wine pairing and that was a great compliment. Incredibly professional kitchen. A+
