When I walked in middle of the day on Monday, no one greeted me. I was the only customer there. It looked like they were closed, and I wasn’t sure if it was a sit down and feast or take out or buffet…weird. I was hopeful though because I really wanted Filipino food. The cook/cashier/waiter got up from a table, went behind the cash register and looked at me. No greetings…no explanation…nothing. I asked for lumpia and pancit (my fav). Total was about $21 (cool, it looked like a lot of food based on the menu). I paid and sat down. The guy never said have a seat, how long it would take, would I like water…nothing. While I sat and waited, a female staff member walked in the front door. The male cashier/waiter/cook said hello and talked to her while he was cooking my food, so I know he speaks…just not to me. After a while, the food was ready, and he put it in a huge brown paper bag. I exited with the big paper bag, and as I was leaving out the door, the man mumbled thanks to my back. I get in my vehicle (didn’t plan to eat in the car but I sure wasn’t eating in there), open this huge bag, and there’s just a box of food (no utensils, no napkins, just food and lots of it). I was still hopeful. I’ve had pancit and lumpia countless times, and even made it myself before. This food was different, not in a good way. The flavor wasn’t there. The meat was nothing like I’ve had before, and I have no idea if it was chicken or pork, but it was NOT the traditional meat I’ve had in pancit. The shrimp were tasteless. The lumpia was dry and a bit over cooked….also missing flavor. The lumpia wrappers were not the typical wrappers, which was a huge disappointment. The food was plentiful but not enjoyable. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. It’s important to be kind (and of course serve good food) to ALL customers.

After a long day of shopping a quick google search led us to Meng’s. There are few photos but we took a chance and I am convinced that there are not enough photos because once you food arrives-your phone immediately gets put down. The area is not great and the restaurant itself serves your food on paper dixie plates-BUT LOOK PAST THAT! The food was amazing. Cooked to order by a Lola. There was a special that included all the basics; pancit, lumpias, and bbq pork on a skewer. We also got the lechon kawali which was pretty much chicharon. The sauce situation was a vinegar based sauce and a sweet sauce. They went well together. The dirty rice was also great. I can’t say enough nice things about the food, and the employees. The woman at the register said we picked a good variety of dishes, despite never having ordered Filipino food before. We also got the Tocilog plate which is also sweet BBQ pork (but different). I def recomend. Don’t be intimidated by the large menu of pictures, just ask the women behind the register and she will greet you with a smile.

Delicious and generous with portions! My husband said it tastes like traditional cuisines he has had while living in the Philippines. We will definitely come back again when are visiting from Los Angeles.

Amazing find, the food is solid! The staff are very kind. If you have the need for some adobo or delicious skewers, this is the place to go. There are also a few drink and desert options available that are pretty fresh. Fair prices.

2022-Oct. We stopped by for a take-out on a weekday, around 5pm. Ordered 10 pcs of pork bbq, pork adobo, and dinuguan. We placed the order and left. Came back 15 minutes later, and our food wasn’t done. We waited for another 15 minutes.

The next time, we just called-in our order 3 hours prior to the time we want to pick-up. Our food was ready for pick-up when we got there.

The food were very tasty. I just wished they have taho.

Bon Appétit!

We liked the foos that we orsered. We ordered -silog combos. My son loved the tocino since it was soft amd not hard like some restaurants prepare them…some of the eggs were runny (which is how I like them) some were cooked through.

Although, we can’t complain since we didn’t ask to have the eggs cooked any which way. My wife liked the bagsilog combo, fried priperly amd not greasy.

An added bonus was that their prices are on the cheaper side.

I asked the staff and they said that they have been here in Palm Springs for a number of years now.

Good stuff, kinda lousy atmosphere and such in there, so recommend take out- think thats whats intended anyways. They pass the adobo test, its good. Star player was the lumpia, definitely get that. Also tried the dinuguan, pretty good. Honestly got a couple other dishes and all pretty good so to save you time; As long as you like filipino food, you will like it, im guessing all their food follows the same pattern; good. Not amazing filipino food, but definitely nothing short of good.
