Women’s, men’s, children’s and infant apparel and gifts, home decor, bridal registries, baby registries and more! And don’t forget our Cafe! We have gourmet coffees, frappes, smoothies, breakfast, lunch and more! We are located in downtown Mendenhall. You can find us at the 4-way stop by the railroad tracks!

We stopped by during our road trip for some coffee. Loved the costumer service we received. The ladies were very kind to us. I had an iced latte with honey, my husband had an iced americano and my daughters had a lemonade slushy. We all loved our drinks they were very refreshing. There’s lots to look at and shop for, I wish we could’ve stayed longer.

My mom and I visited for the first time last week and we had the best experience! The lunch was so good and the selection of gifts in the shop was great! There is something for everyone! We enjoyed meeting the owners, Lori and Madison. I’m so proud of them opening this jewel in my hometown. We will be back soon!

I’m a native of Mendenhall, MS who has moved away. I visit family about once a year, and I always take a keen interest on how business is doing downtown — what’s thriving, and what has closed. Unfortunately, the latter category is usually the case; the town has a hard time supporting local businesses. Fortunately, Mendenhall Mercantile has bucked this trend, and it sits proudly at the base of Main Street, well stocked and serving happy customers every time that I have visited over the last few years.
The business is in the old Grocery and Grain building, sitting adjacent the railroad tracks and facing “Old” Highway 49. A hardwood deck with seating invites customers inside.
Once in the historic building, one’s senses are delighted with a huge array of gifts, decorations, and clothing. The items on sale here aren’t exactly cheap, but they are extremely attractive, tastefully displayed, and of high quality.
In the middle of the building, one finds the children’s room, with books, stuffed animals, and clothes.
At the back of the building, there is a cafe. It has reasonably priced (honestly cheap by today’s standards) sandwiches and other lunch items, fancy espresso and drip coffee drinks, and refreshing cold drinks for hot summer days. Seating is plentiful and pleasant. And everybody inside the store and cafe is welcoming and friendly.

You’ll be greeted by the sweetest, most genuine staff who will help you curate a special gift or adorable outfit. And check out the cafe in the back: coffee bar with specialty drinks (all made with Cups coffee) and delicious food for lunch!

If you want small town southern hospitality, boutique style shopping, then Mendenhall Mercantile will not disappoint! From the moment you walk in you will be drawn to multiple aromas from their bath and body section to the back where they have the most inviting coffee and deli shop. I love browsing through their gift section and women’s apparel. The experience is definitely worth your time.
