This was my first time here. I’m not from California. The place had that great old fashion vibe. Totally enjoyed it. The burgers were awesome!

Be sure to have a big appetite, breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are so many yummy menu choices, and the milkshakes are awesome! love the old diner, feel and look, add the amazing staff, and you have a winner. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I love this place because it’s a classic! Reminds me when I was a kid. Still have all American menu that taste great and a hefty portion. I love the juke box to play oldies and great music.

Huge portions. We shared each meal. Excellent service. If you liked Happy days you will love here. Working juke boxes in the booths. Open 24hrs. Recommend the ribs and the egg avocado. Mel’s burger good too:)r

If you like oldies music and diner fair, this is the most reasonably priced option on Sunset that I’ve found so far. My French dip was tasty if a little small. The fries were hot and crispy and the ranch was top five I’ve had in LA. Plenty of parking was available, which is always a bonus. Come enjoy the kitsch.

Great milkshake on Sat night! Ironically the place was not crowded but the service is slow! The traditional shake is served with all the mix which is easy to split for 2 people.

Restaurant with a different vibe. Close to the Hollywood walk of fame in the middle of sunset boulevard. Unlimited coffee served. We ordered the avocado sandwich and the rise and shine sandwich. The rise and shine sandwich was pretty delicious compared to the avocado sandwich.

The best Mel’s to be at. The smash burgers are so good! All the other food was good too. Fun little music boxes at the booths to play a song on the speakers for the restaurant

I have been eating at Mel’s for many years, both in Los Angeles, and when I lived in San Francisco. In terms of the classic American diner, it’s always a solid option. Personally I don’t prefer it for breakfast, but it’s a great option for lunch or dinner. Usually I get the tuna melt, but I have tried many other dishes here as well.

This is the most hustlin’ breakfast diner I’ve ever seen. The place is full. Looks like two people are holding it down. Busser is very efficient too. The tall waiter is very cute too. Bet you can’t guess where he’s from??? Oh yeah…I forgot… the food was great too. My daughter and I enjoyed our time and the cool jukebox tunes
