Trying to be generous. Small chewy over cooked chicken pieces. Got the 4 piece mixed, so I got to sample all the chicken.
Got a drink, ate in and with tip over $20
Got to ask for a drink refill as the fountain machine is in the back. What’s a cup of coke cost the owner? Why? When it’s busy you don’t want to wait in a refill!! Come on!
This is funny.. guy just went to get a refill, they bussed his table threw his chicken away. He comes back….food is gone!!??

Mel’s Dairy Bar was, unfortunately, not very good.
I gave it two (2) shots, and it did not impress me. The first night I went, I asked for a vanilla ice cream cone rolled in sprinkles. This is probably one of the easiest things you can ask a dairy bar to do. However, the girl working the counter didn’t seem to have any idea what that was. I got a hot fudge sundae instead, which was pretty good, but the customer service remained disorganized and chaotic. They were all screaming at each other, the tables were a mess, and there were a lot of people who had been waiting a long time for their food.
I came back a few days later to give it another chance, and it remained less than ideal. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and specifically ordered it “for here.” However, they gave it to me in a to-go box and bag, which made it kind of difficult to enjoy. Anyhow, I sat down to eat, and the tenders were terrible. They were undercooked, hard, and resembled rubber more than they did regular chicken tenders. The inside lobby was pretty nasty as well.
I *might* give it one more try, and I’ll spare it a one-star review due to the fact that it just opened, but I was not impressed at all.

People: Every single time I come into this place the workers are so amazing. Helpful and happy.
Food: the food is so darn good and so affordable! I love all the chicken, milkshakes, and there’s this special right now I can get where it’s a foot long hot dog loaded and it’s only $5.75! AMAZING!!!
I’d give this place 20,000 stars if I could. Do not believe the bad reviews, the chicken is amazing hamburgers amazing. And if by chance the employees mess up, they happily rectify the situation. So why would someone stay mad and write a bad review? Again I repeat, this place is hands down amazing. The perfect local family spot or the spot to grab a quick and tasty bite.

The foods are the same as they were when it was Zestos. For sure the service, the atmosphere and above all cleanliness is far superior now.

Customer service was fast and friendly. As for the food, the ice cream was tasty but the milkshake had a slight taste of freezer burn. The chicken tasted clean but lacked any type of seasoning and the fries tasted like they had been dropped in cold grease. I want this place to do well so I hope they consider changing up their chicken recipe and making it more flavorful. I will give them a try again at some point.

Mel’s Dairy Bar hit the mark for me. Chicken was great. Juicy. Not buried in breading. The fries were fresh and hot. After the chicken and fries I decided to have a dessert…cream come. It was a great after dinner choice. Besides the food being great; the staff is wonderful. Very pleasant. People can make all the difference and they do here at Mel’s. Keep up the good work and great service. Thanks!!

Went for the first time this week. When I placed my order, which was 2 cheeseburgers and a hamburger, the young lady at the window could not get the order right. All three burgers were mayo, mustard and ketchup only. It took her four times to get it right. After waiting for 10 minutes for the order, we checked the burgers to make they were correct and of course one of them was not. When I went back to the window to tell them it was wrong, a gentleman came up and started arguing with me stating it was made correctly. I told him it was made all the way, no one in my family eats tomatoes and onions. He finally just grabbed the burger and walked away to make a new one. The new burger was handed back to me without a word being said. Well guess what, the burger still wasn’t right, but my wife said not to take it back. The meat was tough and there was so much mayo, mustard and ketchup on the burger that it was nit edible. If you are expecting something close to Zesto’s, you will be highly disappointed. A small McDonalds cheeseburger is 1000 times better than this.

Mel’s Dairy Bar has an unsatisfactory record of zero out of two attempts. It may be advisable for the establishment to consider closure. The quality of the chicken was compromised due to overcooking, and the fries were unpalatable. The price of $14.85 was excessive, .85 being a more reasonable charge considering the overall quality of the food served or lack thereof.
Finally, Two visits, two failures. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Decided to try this today, asked the cashier if it tasted anything like Zestos, she said yes, it does not. 10.00 worth of disappointment, my fries are hard and cold, tastes like the grease hasn’t been changed in a month and the coleslaw tastes like it was made last week, the cabbage is limp, soggy and flavorless, such a turn-off I’m not even going to try to eat the burger. I won’t be returning although I would like to personally hand them this order back.

I just stopped there today for my first time and I ordered a cheeseburger and the burger was still bread in the middle and it tastes like that. These burgers were left out overnight. It has a very nasty aftertaste. They don’t taste fresh. I probably wouldn’t recommend anybody eating any burgers from there? I paid 10 1/2 dollars for this burger and a large sweet tea. The sweet tea tastes OK but this burger like I said it’s red in the middle and the meat taste old.
