I must admit, this experience at Mellow Mushroom does not make me a fan. We requested to sit outside and were willing to wait. The front hostess was fabulous and agreed to our request, but she wanted to make sure we knew it might be a little bit. We were fine with that. As soon as the table opened, she got us seated right away. That’s when it turned blucky. The waitress was less than attentive… had to ask multiple times for items, and it took her a while between each ask. The cheese bread came fairly quickly, but that’s because it was barely warmed enough to melt the cheese… honestly, it’s one of the blandest cheese breads I’ve ever had. We ordered a Mighty Meaty pizza, and while there was plenty of meat on it, it was cooked just to brown, with no crunch… maybe I needed to ask for that, I don’t know. The waitress only checked on us a couple of times and never asked if we wanted refills, except for the alcohol, which, of course, wasn’t free refills. I can’t say it’s the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant, but it certainly ranks as one of the but so good ones.

I ordered a Chicken and Cheese Hoagie. It was hot and fresh and prepared as expected. Service was prompt, and even though my finger had more personality… our server did well. Nice spot to eat. Plenty of seating with some having street side view. Great menu selection and delicious food. Just because the names tend to be the same locations are typically different. I would recommend this location. Only bad I can say about this spot is limited parking depending on when you arrive since it’s downtown.

I ordered cobb salad with chicken..I liked the Bleu cheese crumbles n bacon the best! The lettuce was just stalk.. had to request greens. My sister ordered the wings…I don’t like naked wings too dry the bbq was too tangy.

Meh. I’ve been to several mellow mushrooms, because this is, after all, a chain. Most of them are very very festive, with lots of fun decorations, and a loud vibrant atmosphere. This one felt more like it was re-purposed from another building, and was trying hard to be funky but failing a bit. The vibe was just “off” somehow. It was also far too cold in the restaurant.
