We had a great experience at Mellow Mushroom! Everything was really good – the only thing was that the cheese on the pizza felt a little heavy. Other than that, everything was perfect. The service was good, and even the manager came by our table to check in and make sure everything was good. Really appreciated that touch!”

Had not been to Mellow Mushroom since we’ve moved to the island. Decided to get pizza and appetizers to take home and watch football. Very easy to order. Arrived at the restaurant a little early. We were greeted, at the pickup counter. They said our order was almost ready except for our pretzel bites. Everyone and I mean everyone in this establishment is customer oriented. Smiles, askeds if we need anything, the food was fantastic. Highly highly highly recommend

I’ve been to many locations. Tonight is the first time I ordered their vegan Veg Out pizza that they refused to provide it with a dairy-free crust. Otherwise, what’s the point? The reason? “I know the guy working tonight won’t do it. It’s going to get Parmesan and butter no matter what I write down.” Absolutely unbelievable.
Update: the manager is awesome. She made everything right. It just took 80 minutes for a carryout order.

If you’re a super pizza enthusiast, you’ll rate this pizza low. But if you love good pizza, great service, and a clean restaurant, then this place is great. I believe if we had ask for the pizza to be well done, it would’ve been perfect but this place is still getting five stars! Stuffed meatballs was OUTSTANDING!

Our family visits Mellow My shrimp locations when we travel so we hit the Mellow Mushroom Hilton Head. Food – Was good as usual. We had the Buffalo Chicken pizza, the Pacific Rim pizza, Pepperoni pizza, and some wings (beer too). Service – Was okay, maybe not good. Our server was very slow to come by, waited to order a beer more than once and had to ask for boxes and our bill. Pizza took way too long to come out; so bad in fact that the waitress apologized and the manager came by to apologize (we didn’t ask but they did take 10% off the bill). They were busy with take out orders but we took the time to sit and eat there (we waited over 60 minutes for the pizzas). Anyway, the kitchen is not the waitresses fault but again, she didn’t come by too often. Atmosphere – It’s always a cool atmosphere at Mellow Mushroom and this one had some fun decorations. We like their pizza so we will continue to visit them, just an off night so I’d still recommend to others looking for good pizza.

We ate here in early February 2026 with a party of about 8 people. Everyone that had the chicken wings got very sick within 24 – 30 hours after we were there. Those that didnt eat them were fine. I called the restaurant and left a message asking to speak to a manager and explained the situation. No call back. We won’t be back.

The experience was great, as was the atmosphere. Would be a straight 5 star rating except out waiter had nasty smelling cigarette tucked behind his ear like a doobie. The atmosphere would’ve been better without the 500 television screens on every wall. It took away from the mellow ambience and made it feel like we were in a sports bar. We’ll definitely try the mellow mushroom again at another location to compare.

We have been to this chain here and there. I think this is the best among we have been.The dough from this chain is normally pretty good but this place is the best, however they cook. We order pacific rim and it was great. The seasoning and ingredients however they put just were awesome. Anyway, the best among we had recently for pizzas.
