Friendly staff and fast service. They were swamped because of the event but the service was very prompt and absolutely First in First out order!
One most important thing to note is that you get a free Italian Bread and Marinara Sauce 🙂

This is a historic feeling restaurant. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all top notch. The food is well made, fresh, and delicious. The parking gets a little tight on the weekends, but otherwise okay. It’s hard to describe just how good the food is here. It’s that good.

I had to do a service call for a client of ours in Morehead and we ended running later than I hoped so we weren’t able to make to Lexington or Louisville to one of our more well known local spots. So we started looking at the map to see what “smelled” like it might be a good choice.
We were greeted by a courteous staff and Frank Sinatra singing in the background. Pretty good first impression.
Thankfully, Melini Cucina was open a little later and we gave it a shot. What a gem out in the middle of nowhere. We are going back for more work in the future and I know exactly where we’ll be aiming ourselves for really awesome and authentic Italian meal. My wife got pizza and I got a noodle dish. Both were great and the bread is on point. They also have all homemade dressings and sauces.

Cozy little restaurant.
Server brought bread and sauce to the table…it was okay better if it had been warm.
Dishes were okay:
-chicken fettuccine alfredo ✅
– chicken parm ✔️noodles rubbery and
(Not enough sauce)
-calzone ✔️ huge all sort of ingredients
thrown in… too much pepperoni , soupy
on the inside, and the cheese was in
clumps and hard to chew.
Waitress was nice.

First of all, positives…the bread was good along with the Caprese appetizer. That’s about it.
Negatives:
I ordered chicken penne vesuvio(spelling?), what I got was tasteless chicken soup. The waitress never offered refills and it took at least 20 minutes to get our bill paid. Probably won’t be back.

We were down in morehead for the weekend doing some hiking for Valentine’s weekend. We decided to spend Valentine’s Day here and let me tell ya, IT WAS PACK!! But despite how busy they were the staff was amazing!! Even though you could tell they were understaffed and a little stress. Our wait wasn’t very long at all and the staffed would ask us so often if we were doing okay while we were waiting and told us sorry for the wait multiple times. When we were seated, our waitress was amazing, very sweet and took her time with us though it was still very busy. The food is also very amazing and I will definitely be coming back here not just for the food but for the outstanding customer service!!

The bread was good. The food was barely average. Chicken Marsala was tasteless. The sauce was like broth and the chicken was obviously reheated. It’s sad that there doesn’t seem to be a decent restaurant in Morehead

Pre-meal bread was AMAZING. Would have been nice with seasoned olive oil instead of marinara, but still an excellent bread. I wasn’t as impressed by the Chicken Francese. It was good, just not prepared like I’ve ever had it. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would still return to try other dishes.

I ordered gnocchi to go, got home and the pasta is definitely burnt.

Well, cheated on the atmosphere part. Ordered for curbside and it was great service. From the outside the restaurant looks old, but didn’t see the inside. But the food was awesome amazing! We ordered take out for the Bruschetta, a salad and then the vegan-friendly Puttanesca and Penne con Verdure Mista dishes. We were stuffed!! Hope to visit again next time we are in Morehead.
