They’re the only place to get greens with no pork that I know off..
And I dont usually give poor reviews. However being a non pork eater for 40+ years now.
The nonchalant attitude of the manager who claims to be Muslim, has made me come to maps.
I ordered a TURKEY po boy
End up eating a few bites of a HAM po boy!!
Drove all the way back!
Asked for the manager.
The manager acted as if I was wasting his time. And said “God will forgive you.” “Just pray, is it a religious thing?”
“You got your monet back right.”
As if the money was the fix all.
I spent the money to get a sandwich I could eat. Getting the money back and eating pork was not the goal.
I said its a choice but I made me sick. I just want to report to you in case it get serious.
He says “that’s why we have insurance.” smh
Im explaining that im beginning to get symptoms. He’s says you’re OK. Then he says” i think pork is dog meat.”
But you’re acting like its no big deal that I ate it!!!??????
No more Melba’s for me!
1. kiosk says they will text you when your food is ready. They don’t. They just yell out your name. Which is fine if you are INSIDE. I was outside waiting for a “text” that never came.
2. If you want instant Type 2 diabetes, then I recommend the red beans and rice (mostly rice). I mean, DAMN. Does it have to be SO salty??
3. The hamburger was the most bland mediocre thing I’ve eaten in a while, plus they didn’t put it on the brioche bun that I paid an extra $1 for either. Oh well.
Takeaway- if you’re super drunk and it really doesn’t matter anyway, this place is fine (if not a little overpriced). Do better Melba’s. A little more effort on your part would go a long way towards living up to that claim of being ’one of best blah blah in America’ that blasts out of your PA system.
I came in with friends to grab a to-go order. We ordered, sat, and waited. My friends got their food first, then mine was supposedly ready. I went to the counter, grabbed the bag with my name on it, and walked out. Before I even made it across the parking lot, staff came running outside with security, acting like I was stealing food. Completely unprovoked, completely unnecessary, and honestly insulting.
I calmly handed the bag back and went inside to figure out what happened. And guess what? No apology. No explanation. Nothing. They couldn’t even find my order in the system. Then they demanded a receipt from a damn receipt machine that was broken and that didn’t print anything when i took my order. All I had was the charge already posted to my credit card, which I showed them, and the so-called manager still didn’t care. He refused to remake my food and refused to refund me. Pure negligence and disrespect.
This place has a long history of complaints from Black customers about how they’re treated, and after what I experienced, I believe every one of those complaints. On top of that, the food is trash. Absolutely nothing about this establishment is worth your time, money, or patience.
Save yourself the headache. I’ve already filed a fraud claim with my credit card company because that’s the only way I’m getting my money back.
Avoid this place at all costs.
